I think the thread is to compare the two biggest chains. Penn Station is a million times better than either, but also more expensive.

I tend to base my opinions regarding a sub place on how good their meatball sub is.

 

In this instance Subway>Quizno's.

 

That said however it is akin to preferring leprosy to aids.

 

The best sub place I had ever gone to closed in early 2007, and I still miss it. The only place in Louisville I have found that is close to the other one is Lotsa Pasta, but their hours suck.

I'll go with Subway, the Subway Melt is my favorite sub of all time!

Of the two, I eat more often at Subway due to proximity but I prefere Quiznos. I still would take Jersey Mike's or Penn Station, but they are a bit more pricey. I ordered two 13" and a large fry from PS on Sunday, and it was $23, however, it was basically 3-4 meals so not bad for what you receive.

Jersey Mike's all the way for me. The Subway's in my town are all owned by the same family and they stink! (the food, not the family) They will only give you one napkin per sandwich and the sandwiches are pathetic. You get three (only 3!) small slices of meat and a couple of thin cheese squares. You get two tomatoes and they ration out the cucumbers and olives, as well. It is ridiculous. Our Quizno's is pretty good, but the sandwiches are a lot heavier, IMO.

If I want a great sub, down here, I go to my nearest Publix Supermarket. They make the best subs in town and they are cheaper than both of the chains listed. However, the deli is not open at all hours of the day.

I love the Publix Supermarkets in the Tampa area, especially the one in Largo. The people are so friendly there and the deli meats are delicious. I really wish we could get the Boar's Head meat around here.

After all this sub talk, I had to make the 5 minute drive on my lunch break to go to Penn Station. I guess I come in so often that they knew exactly what I wanted and just gave me my total. It was kind of creepy that they knew my name though.
