Here we go.... another Bush making plans to run for the Oval Office.

 

A Bush talking about telling the truth. Seems kind of funny.

 

Bush 1 - lied about Iran & Ollie North

 

Bush 2 - lied about Iraq

 

Bush 3 - Looks like someone that lies.

Me. UKMF's story sounds pretty close to mine. I certainly wouldn't have made it up.

 

As I said, those who knew what to expect based on his track record are getting exactly what they expected. They haven't flip flopped.

 

But, the gullible, naive people that I referenced, who fell for the act hook, line and sinker, really wear on me...I find it disingenuous to hear them claim that he lied and they didn't expect this. Every sign other than campaign rhetoric pointed toward Obama being exactly what he is. I believe those people got caught up in the "rock star" tour of Obama, ignored logic and reason and voted for a man they wouldn't have in a million years otherwise. And, now they don't want to admit their foolishness.

 

I have no idea how many people fit this description...only that I have encountered more than a couple.

 

About a 3rd of those who voted for him would be my guess......

If Jeb runs, which he indicates is not his desire, I'd vote for him in a heart beat. He was a great governor. Better than the one we have currently. Now, there is a vote I regret I made.

If Jeb runs, which he indicates is not his desire, I'd vote for him in a heart beat. He was a great governor. Better than the one we have currently. Now, there is a vote I regret I made.

 

I hope you are not talkingabout Obama when you say Jeb is better than the one we have currently. My goodness you guys give the man a break. If I can recall correctly no other president has been watched as closely as Obama, and I wonder why?? It has nothing to do with his policies I just wished you guys would have the courage to say it's about a black man here. We have had some sucky presidents with sucky policies and weren't as scrutinized as this man at this time of his presidency.

Just remember how things can change, Mr. Bush and his lies, so don't forget. And oh yea Jeb a good governor, just wonder how he's doing after tampering with voter machines to get his brother elected. Na, not Jeb.

Swamprat was referring to the current governor of Florida, and in any case any of his statements towards President Obama would nothing to do with the President's skin color.

 

While most posters on this board can see a man without thinking of his race, since this is at least your second (and I believe 3rd or 4th) post mentioning the President's ethnicity, I can not say the same for your posts.

Swampy lives in Florida, he was talking about the current governor of Florida. As for the rest of your post, it's good to see you are still on the "if you didn't vote for Obama, you're a racist", war path....

Swamprat was referring to the current governor of Florida, and in any case any of his statements towards President Obama would nothing to do with the President's skin color.

Now for cch and mustang, here is something for you. I white man asked why isn't Obama pushing for betterment in the rural areas as he is in the inner city. Let me break it down for you. He was asking why isn't Obama talking about helping poor white rural people like he is the predominantly minority inner city people. The reply to the white man is why didn't Bush help them. Why do these question come out. You all can say what you want but how many black president or Obama jokes have you heard since he was elected opposed to Bush or others? I know I have heard my share and don't care to hear another. This is why I said what I did and will not back down. Oh by the way I am very far from being a racist, I'm a realist and I do speak the truth. I don't care if you voted for Obama or not, as a matter of fact, how do you know that I did. I'm just saying this man has been elected president during a time when it isn't as joyoust to be the president of the U.S. He came in facing a whole lot of problems not to mention the added pressure of being the first African-American president. Give him time, lets just sit back and see what will happen. It isn't "being real" to assume that the basis of one's comments is racism. That is called applying a generalization to an individual.

 

I have heard my fair share of racist jokes about Obama, some from my own family in North Carolina. Never in my life will I assume that someone whom I've never met or talked to is a racist based on that fact. You have a problem with racism, rightfully so, because racists make an assumption about a person without giving them a chance, because they are black. By making an assumption about swamprat's (or anyone else's) motives without giving them a chance, you are as guilty of stereotyping. Just because someone may be a Republican does not make them a racist, despite how many you have met.

 

And the great irony is that Swamprat didn't even mention or imply anything about Obama in his post.

I've been posting with most on this board for a couple of years now. Some are quick (as in lightning speed) to criticize Obama for any little thing, sometimes for doing something in one situation and then for not doing the exact same thing in tanother situation. However, I don't know of one poster on this board that I feel does so for racist reasons. If you listen to their arguments, many have very structured, reasonable concerns. I feel that I must stand up against the cry of racism against the P/R anti-Obamas.

I still find it interesting that mom was white and dad was black but Obama is labeled only as an African-American President.

 

It will be nice for both sides when we can move away from voting/supporting for someone because of the color of their skin.

Well what else do you want him to be labeled. Of all the jokes points him towards beinga black man, wouldn't you think Ladies. Aslo the beginning of this post puts Obama as a socialist. Now can we talk about generalization here or what. That is what was said earlier right. Now show me where Obama has come right out and said he was a socialists. Haven't heard him say it so I guess that is by you alls account generalization.

The way I look at it's time someone put a hold on the crazy thing we call capitalism when we all that isn't true. For way too many years the gap between the rich and the poor has grown out of hand. It's time someone steps up and does the right thing. You all really irk me with your comments, I could care if you are speaking out against the man and I'm not going to call you a racist for doing so, but what has this man done.

Who defines "the right thing"? It really irks me when people refuse to look at the evidence of Obama's socialistic tendencies. Can I assume that by your description of capitalism that you are a socialist? How much of a gap between rich and poor is "in hand"? Or maybe in your utopia everyone would be totally equal regardless of any efforts one may have made to better themselves?

You must have a rich and poor class for economic success.

 

His policies are socialistic leaning. He is for government intervention, increased spending, increased taxation, and increased government say in corporations and business. Is he a socialist? I don't believe so, but he definitely seems to be the most socialistic president we've had, and none of that has a single thing to do with his skin color.
