July 10, 200917 yr Speaking of traffic I used to live in Atlanta (which has traffic worse than Lex) and I really felt the traffic degregaded the quality of life. I mean it really didn't matter that there were a thousand more things to do if had little to no desire to deal with the traffic involved to do them. From my travels I would also state that comparing any cities traffic to Louisville's isn't fair. Louisville, with a few exception areas, has probably the best traffic flow of any city its size or bigger, that I've experianced.

Lville around rush hour is like any big city and can get bad at Spag Junction or out of town on Fri's at rush hour. Atl is probably the worst I've been in big city wise. Never driven in NY though.

Made the mistake once and only once of traveling north from Florida at such a time as to hit Atlanta/Marietta traffic at about 4:30PM. Eight lanes, bumper to bumper. Never again.
July 10, 200917 yr I can remember as a youngster when there was only one Bay Bridge connecting the Eastern and Western shores of Maryland. It wasn't uncommon to have, on the "big 3" weekends - Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day - traffic backed up for upwards of 10-12 miles.

Louisville ranks in the worst 5 of cities it's size when it comes to hours waiting in traffic. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200990708002 However, I'd take it any day over Lexington's "Spoke and Wheel".
