Just Smelled The Worst Smell Ever...

Featured Replies

Apparently last Thursday when I mowed I accidently knocked the cord out of the socket to my deep freeze. Well I went outside for a popsicle and opened it up and dang near got knocked down by the smell. Worse smell ever. There was probably 90 lbs of deer meat, popsicles, chicken breast, frozen veggies and shrimp in there. Got the deep freeze in the back yard airing out. Anyone ever done this? Is the deep freeze a lost cause or can it be saved. It's only like a year old.:puke:

Sounds pretty nasty....

I'm sure it can be saved...It'll take a lot of work though!

Why do you keep your deep freeze outside?

Had a similar experience when I went to clean our football concession stand and opened up the freezer to several bags of chicken breast that had been stewing in the unplugged freezer. Closest I ever came to puking when cleaning up a mess. Hate to say it, but I bleached the thing several times and still couldn't get rid of the smell.

There's another possibiity, you know.

Why do you mow inside?

Garage = outside. I keep a fridge outside, in my garage. I am guessing that his lawn mower is kept in the garage and pulled the cord either upon removing or returning the mower.:idunno:

We were cutting gallon jugs for Vacation Bible School last night and someone had donated milk jugs that were not cleaned out. Have you ever seen green milk? I have now and trust me, the smell is worse than rotten meat, because I've smelled it too, unfortunately. I am sorry to hear you lost all your freezer meat.

The deep freeze can definitely be salvaged, but it will probably take lots of bleach and drying out in the sun. As far as bad smells go, wait until you are a parent. The human body can put out some pretty bad odors!:puke::lol: I'm sorry you lost all your meat, though. That is too bad. We also keep an extra fridge in the garage.

Another cantidate for bad smells....the ones mentioned already certainly qualify and are disgusting. I would add the "cat/dead cat smell" in the mix as well. Cat "p" can be very bad, recently a cat got up under our house and died.....that smell was beyond terible for 3 to 4 weeks, the dead animal was in a place where it was impossible to get to for removal and we couldn't even get lime on the carcass to kill smell. We opened the windows and turned the fans in the house on high, ran the air cond. sparingly. Thankfully nature has taken its course now and the smell is gone.

I know I will draw critisizm for this next statement but I am saying it anyway. Should anyone want to own a cat, that is your business. I would ask that you "keep it your cat" by keeping the disgusting animal = to a skunk inside your house. Cats I am speaking of are the ones that owners let run outside to do whatever in other people yard/plants, not to mention when they go in heat......:madman::madman:. Should you want to own a cat/cats that is fine, just don't have your cats running around other peoples yard/property. I used to say that a cat was just one step above a skunk, I no longer feel that way...they are dead even! :puke:

Again, I have no problem with responsible pet owners that love cats and keep them inside where they should be.

I am to the point of giving up on talking to the owners, they either pay no atterntion or deny the cats are theirs. Maybe the next time the cats are running around on anothers yard/property just might be the last time, whether it be calling animal control or if that doesn't get very fast results, by other means that I am positive will.....:sssh:

Easy solution to that problem. Never buy a home not on a slab or basement. :D

While in college, my roommates and I went home for the weekend and our fridge went out over the weekend and we had deer meat, fish, steaks, etc. in the freezer and all had ruined, awful smell. But I think the worst smell that I have been associated with when my buddy while skinning a deer, accidently cut some of its guts that he should not have, that was awful!

Its not outside. There's a storage room on my carport.
