July 6, 200917 yr I am looking for suggestions for restaurants/steakhouses in downtown Louisville. I know about Jeff Ruby's and that's about it. Its for a bunch of guys.
July 6, 200917 yr Drive across the 31 bridge into Jeffersontown and they have a Buckhead Mountain Grill. A couple of other restaurants are there also.
July 6, 200917 yr I would suggest Pat's Steakhouse on Brownsboro Road near downtown. Tons of places on Bardstown Road near downtown, if it is a nice day head to Captains Quarters on River Road the best view in town.

Tons of places on Bardstown Road near downtown, if it is a nice day head to Captains Quarters on River Road the best view in town.My favorite steakhouse in Louisville. Just remember to bring cash...no cards accepted. Jack Fry's would be a great place to take a bunch of guys. Killer vibe and amazing food.
July 6, 200917 yr Jack Fry's is the best overall restaurant in Louisville in my opinion. The ownership change February '08 has not affected the food/decor at all. I second the nomination for Pat's on the steaks. Bring cash. I used to like the steaks at a place called Del Frisco's, but don't even know if they are open anymore. IMVHO, the big shots at Jeff Ruby's, Morton's and Ruth Chris are not worth the money. The markup on a bottle of wine at those places is offensive.

Del Frisco's is definitely still open but the heart of St. Matthews is a little far if you're looking for downtown. I've never been to Jack Fry's but I've only ever heard good things. I love Pat's; it's my favorite steak in town of all the places I've actually been.
July 6, 200917 yr Any place that accepts no cards at least intrigues me. What's the deal there? With the rep that Pat's has they can afford to not upgrade. I would just assume that they see no reason to pay for the ability to accept cards. Seriously...Pat's is a Louisville institution.

Del Frisco's is still open; though Equu's right beside it is better in my opinion. I second your opinion on the "big shots"...they are way overrated.
July 6, 200917 yr Pat's sometimes gets props more for it's history in lieu of whether or not it's till a top steakhouse (which I feel it is not)....>Del Frisco's will offer you the most bang for your buck in quality, and it's a manly kind of place. The decor is quite drab though. Morton's is another MANLY steakhouse, going after that rat pack feel. Jeff Ruby's is the new fad, and it is very good, but like Hearsay "says" Jack Fry's is right up there, and 100% original....other good steaks could be found at Stoney River, Napa River, and Varanese....if you want more suggestions hit me up, food's kind of my thing.
July 7, 200917 yr Drive across the 31 bridge into Jeffersontown and they have a Buckhead Mountain Grill. A couple of other restaurants are there also. There are at least two other Buckheads that I know of in Louisville those being on Bardstown rd (just west of Watterson) and near the Summit on 42. Jeffersonville is across the river in Indiana, Jeffersontown (or J-town) is one of the larger Louisville suburbs including areas on Hurstbourne and Taylorsville Rd.

Pat's is by far the most manly steakhouse in town! No girlie men allowed!
July 10, 200917 yr ^ It's just not very good.....there are far better places to get your carnal addiction done.
