Find a team dumping salary and you'll get a great deal every time if the measuring stick is a contrast of talent. Typically, it happens with aging stars, like Shaq. The Lakers just got lucky and landed Gasol. Expiring contracts are a hot commodity in the NBA. Who'd have thought Wally Szerbjoidjod @ $10 mil per year would be better trade bait than a real basketball player?
June 29, 200917 yr Shaq is washed up, Gasol at the time was 27 and entering the prime of his career. It was still incredibly stupid IMO and turned L.A. from a mid-range Western Conference team into the best team in that conference. Shaq while not as good as he use to be, is not washed up. He actually had a pretty good year last year, even though the Suns didn't do so well.

Supposedly, they could have swung a deal with him a couple of smaller contacts for Carter. I'm glad they didn't because Carter is too old to entice LBJ to stay in Cleveland.

I seriously doubt if anyone on this board like Wally less than I do (as a Cav of course). I honestly think that at this stage of his career he is one of the 10 worst players in the league.

I don't like Randolph's attitude, and I don't believe he'd last long with a team that is far from winning, just like it is with the Clippers. He is in a better situation in LA with Davis and Griffin. Memphis should look at Portland and see how they managed all of their young players and take that route, they aren't going to "win now" so there is no real rush. Get rid of overpriced veterans and acquire young talent you can build around.

A lot of PF talent in next years draft, so if they don't get a good deal on a PF this year then I see no reason why they can't just wait 1 more season.

July 3, 200917 yr 200 block a game, Wow, that has to be a record. Obviously I was exaggerating. Merely what I was saying was that he would get his fair share of blocks and will do fine on the defensive side of the ball. The offensive side is what is still to be determined.
