The Bucks are clearing cap space so he may have to go back there, as he is a restricted free agent. I like this trade. Helps the Cavs more than some might think! If they add a normal sized two guard and replace Varajao with a PF that has some offensive game and quickness they will be fine. Shaq provides the Cavs with someone that Howard and Garnett will have to guard. He isn't enough by himself to take them to the title, but he is a nice starting point. I have been a Shaq fan during his whole career. I would love nothing more than to see him go out winning a title!!! :thumb: I am interested to see what happens to Big Z.....didn't Lebron promise him a championship when he arrived in Cleveland? Big Z will be a Cav, IMO. He may have to redo his deal but he will be there. He would be a very good option for 20 minutes off the bench.

The limited size in the backcourt still probably would have been too much. Had they made the Finals, Lamar Odom probably would be considered a HOF after abusing Varajao.

Perhaps, but I'm sure Cleveland would've liked to have found out for themselves and took their chances once they got to the finals.

June 27, 200917 yr I'm not real sure if this is a good thing or not. Like I said before, it will be interesting to say the least. If Shaq stays healthy, they'll be in strong position. Two things... I'm not sure how good Orlando will be with Carter and no Turkoglu...I don't think they'll be as good. The bad matchups and poor coaching destroyed Cleveland in that series. Cleveland got destroyed with the pick-and-roll. Carter isn't the playmaker that Turkoglu is, so that helps the Cavs with this matchup. With the changes both teams have made, the matchup disadvantage isn't as bad. Second, if they can avoid Orlando altogether, the Cavs probably match up better with the rest of the conference. We keep comparing everything to Orlando, but 1) they're not going to be the same team as last year, and 2) the Cavs may not even play them in the playoffs. Shaq helps, but the actual upgrade isn't equal to the hype.

Shaq is going to clog the lane for Lebron while he is in there making it a bit more difficult to drive for him. With Big Z be played outside more than inside so Lebron had free reign to go anywhere he wanted. I'm still not sure how I would feel about this if I was a Cavs fan.

Magic had no one that could create their own shot and now they do along with the shooters that they had. I agree with you assesment of the Cavs. Shaq seems to clog things up as he gets older.
