July 28, 200917 yr Repurchased Steve Earle's 'Trancendental Blues'. What a great album. Just purchased Daughtry's 2nd album. A couple of nice surprises. A country style song called 'Tennessee Line' sung with Vince Gill on background and 2nd vocals is very good. 'Open your eyes' written with Ben Moody is solid. It doesn't have as many of the rockers as his first album or as many ballads, but a pretty good 2nd effort.

July 28, 200917 yr I like all of their albums, a lot, for different reasons with each one. But their best album, absolutely, is their second one, "Aha Shake Heartbreak." Just to update you on where I am with my listening... I'm not sure what happened, but something triggered one day and I absolutely love Kings of Leon now. "Fans" is a really cool song that I sometimes forget about -- mostly because I have a hard time remembering song names, but also because it's on the record I listen to the least of the four. That's not to say I don't like "Because Of The Times," but more because I'm so caught up in "Aha Shake Heartbreak." "Fans" really works well because you're instantly hooked in by the bass line followed by the drum, which ties the whole thing together and gives the guitars and vocals chances to play around a lot. One of the neat things about KOL is that their tunes, as often as not, are bass-driven or drum-driven, and far more so than most rock bands.
July 28, 200917 yr Author "Charmer" is another pretty cool tune off that record. It took me a couple times scrambling around looking for my phone and then cursing the prank caller on the other end before I figured this one out.

Funny that more artists are coming out with vinyl albums as well as cds these days again. Vinyl really is making a comeback. I believe that the Chickenfoot album is available on vinyl as well as cd.
