Sammy Sosa Took Steroids

I really don't think Griffey or Thomas are in the clear just yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see their names on "the list" if it ever gets published.

As a player, I'd be fuming about this; if I was an officer in the players' union, I'd be positively livid. So much for anonymous. It'll be interesting to see what the Ninth Circuit court does when their decision comes out in the case. The players union attempted to cooperate when they agreed to anonymous testing in 2003 and now it's come back on them. It seems to me that someone within Congress has that list and is leaking names to media outlets. That is absolutely unacceptable and I sincerely hope that the Ninth Circuit has the sense to take that list away from the government once and for all.

I agree that it should never have been leaked, if the test was to be anonymous. At this point is it fair to only name one or two players. To quote a great American, "No says I". I think in fairness to Sosa, A-Rod and anyone else whose name has or will come out that all should be leaked. All should be eligible for the HOF if they tested positive, just I do think that any player that juiced should have it noted on their HOF plaque in some way. Maybe a small syringe could be put on the plaque somewhere or something to denote that that player was juiced.

I would just like to add: White Sox fan gets elected president, most famous Cubs player of the last 15 years has his name leaked by Congress. Coincidence? I think not. :D

Another story that no one is suprised by anymore. Guys like Sosa, McGuire, Palmero, A-Rod, Bonds,Clemens make me appreciate guys like Derek Jeter,Griffey,jr and Frank Thomas even more. Those and others that have never been suspected or implicated in any way for steroids. Past players like H. Aaron (the true MLB hr king), W. Mays, F. Robinson......really all of the older players that did what the did on hard work and desire, respect for the game and its rules.

Like I have said before......Hank Aaron did it on hard work, dedication and desire. (what a concept, who knew?:idunno::D)

Babe Ruth did it on hot dogs, cigars and beer (and all were legal). :D

Dont be suprised if some of those guys used too... I can tell you for a fact that steroids have been rampant in sports for a LONG TIME!!!! Most people dont realize that anyone could get them up until the laws changed with roids in I think '91. As long as there has been competition people have been trying to get an edge.

I had a college coach tell me that when he played college ball back in the early 70's...the players went into the training room weekly to get a "vitamin" shot. He said they had no clue what they were being given. But his trainer/strength coach was a former national power lifter. This was at a MAJOR college...and ALL players on the team got their "vitamins".

One last point...many people think...well he doesnt look like he's on steroids. Half of the riders in the tour de france are on the sauce...do they look like roid heads?

"No speak english".
No habla ingles. My least favorite spanish sentence.

I don't even know about guys like Griff, Thomas, Jeter anymore (Jeter would be the biggest suprise but not really a suprise). None of them suprise me anymore. Baseball needs to have the total list, release it then move on to a new era.

No way Junior or Jeter are on steroids and Frank Thomas was huge from the moment he stepped foot on a major league field!
