June 9, 200917 yr Author Questionable to who? You? The NCAA went over their records and what did they come up with? I'm one of the biggest UK fans on the board, so no it isn't questionable to me. But, I can guarantee you that about 90% of the folks around the nation will (and already are) be on this like a shark on a wounded baitfish.

And IMO many of these national writers and TV talking heads that keep stirring the pot on this issue know in their hearts that they are overblowing many of these stories for the hype value...and hey, everyone else is doing it too, so why not join in. It's overkill at its worse.

Good it's better to be in the news than not newsworthy when you've done nothing wrong. I don't think there's any question that many folks would love to catch Calipari up in a scandal. The NCAA investigated the entire program and said Calipari was not at fault and that Rose might have had someone take a test for them. Dig away
June 9, 200917 yr I'll get right to it. :walk: Maybe we'll pick up a college basketball game as well. Thurston Howell the Third thanks you!
June 9, 200917 yr Sorry, wasn't trying to be misleading. However, that is 3 of the top 6 leading scorers on the Memphis team that have questionable eligibility. Even if Calipari is completely innocent and it's all a fluke, this looks really, really bad, IMO. Except they don't. The NCAA determines eligibility, and they're only questioning Rose. Again, weren't both of the other players looking at other schools when the "questionable" exams were taken?

Again, weren't both of the other players looking at other schools when the "questionable" exams were taken? And they needed higher scores to be admitted to those schools. Just because you can't get into one school doesn't mean you won't qualify at another school with lower scores.
June 9, 200917 yr Author Except they don't. The NCAA determines eligibility, and they're only questioning Rose. Again, weren't both of the other players looking at other schools when the "questionable" exams were taken? Dozier scored in the 98th percentile on the "questionable" test. He was asked to retake the test and scored 540 points lower on the second attempt. Where is the red flag smiley?
June 9, 200917 yr How can they clearinghouse clear them and allow them to play and then come back and say no, these were not legit scores? Of course a red-flag should have been raised, but at the time it wasn't. The NCAA made a great deal of money while these kids were making their run to the Final Four. Now they want to come back and say, ooops, we may have made a mistake. When will the NCAA ever be held accountable for some of their mistakes?
June 9, 200917 yr I bet Harvard will not take a lot of D-1 basktball players. So does that make all the big time schools a bad place. Some school have a lot more things you have to meet.

Not really sure what this post is getting at as it's a little hard to understand. But, Harvard isn't a big time school when it comes to basketball. If that's what the argument was...
