Oregon State Has Offered Dakotah Euton

What exactly is the top scholarship?

Good question

With all the critizism Euton has taken, he could end up with the top scholorship! Wow, here is a guy that some said he wasn't top ten in his class!

He may have gotten the top one of these, but as for the top scholarship offer of his class an argument could be made it isn't.

If I were Dakota, Eastern would be my choice of all those schools mentioned.

The reality of this situation is this:

Dakota WILL PLAY Division I ball somewhere!!!

Appropriately at the time, he was ranked as a top 10 player in the country in 8th-9th grade but the truth is you cannot predict which kids will be impact college players (Lebron excluded) until junior or senior year, when all the kids have reached their full potential. Dakota is not a top 50 college player and should never have been placed in that situation. However, he will make a very solid player at a mid-major.

Therefore, for those on this board who like to project the future of current elementary school players, although I enjoy reading the posts about the younger kids(freshman or less), it typically has LITTLE to NO bearing on who will become an impact college player.

My bet, as strong as the class of 2010 appears to be, is that there will be NO 2010 players from KY sign with a major D1 conference (SEC, Big East, Big Ten, PAC 10)

I hope I am wrong but either way a lot of kids will get the chance to play college ball at some level.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I mean for his class in Ky he has an offer for the higher rated school. Oregon State although a bottom tier team in the PAC10 is the better school than a Morehead State or Tennesse Tech. It is still wait and see what kind of offers the other guys get and who actually signs.

Let's be honest here, while it may be nice for him to have a chance to play in the Pac-10, Oregon State has not won an NCAA game in 27 years.

Is that where you played??

I watched some Oregon State games this season because I really like their coach. Robinson likes having a big guy that can score from the perimeter, and I'm sure they look at Euton as someone that can fill that role.

I'm not knocking the kid at all, it would be great for him to play there. I'm referring to other posters who have mentioned 'top scholarships' and 'big-time' offers.

I think Euton has some skill and potential. I think he could possibly prosper on a team like WKU or EKU, and with the conferences they play in. Billy Gillispie is the best thing that could have happened to this kid in regards to getting his name out there. I dont know that Oregon St., or the Pac 10 is the best fit for him, but hey, if he does go there, I hope he gets a chance to prove himself and does really well.

I wish him nothing but the best with all the happiness in the world. However I saw him play last week & watched him earlier in his career & he is definitely one of those kids who peeked early (7th-9th grade) while being bigger than everyone else at that time. It is unfair to him of all that was put on him or out about him but that is part of it. He has not improved enough since the early years to play major D1 mainly due to athletic ability & just not being good enough. When I saw him last week against Shelby Valley maybe he was the 4th or 5th best player on the floor at best. Everyone says who is he going to guard on "D" at D1 level?,but what kind of "O" will he fit into at D1 level? He will not be able to get himself open or get by his man & the only thing I can see is if he plays 2 or 3 & can possibly post up a smaller player. I cannot see someone giving him a major D1 scolly with such limitations. Just my thoughts.

They did beat New Mexico in an NIT game in 1987.:D
