Bruce is a horrible option for a 2 hitter, IMO. Where is Hairston? Hurt?

Nix took a horrible angle on that ball.

I don't think he would have got it anyway but yes he did.

1-0 bad guys...

Reds are winning?

Incorrect. His numbers in the 2 spot are heads and shoulders above his numbers anywhere else in the lineup....

I was thinking the same thing....

Reds are winning?

Um no... The Cardinals are. If you were in a track the Cards thread then that would be the case.

Just didn't know that many people liked the Reds...Who knew! :idunno:

Yeah why is Rosales in the lineup 2 nights in a row with Hairston hitting near .300 and Rosales around .240. Hairston is a much better 2 hitter. Dusty is a horrible manager when it comes to making a lineup!!

Hariston is sick. Thats why he is not batting two, Dusty is doing the best he can with what he has.

Actually I'm not incorrect. He is not a 2 hitter. Now his career number might be better there, but the sample size of 15 games is not enough to validate anything.

A two hitter is a contact hitter. Bruce is a long ball/strikeout hitter. A two guy is a good bunter. How many bunts does Bruce have, more importantly how many sac's does he have? A two hitter shouldn't lead the team in HR's. And shouldn't be one of the top HR hitters in the NL. You want a guy with power like that knocking in the 1 and 2 hitter. The main goal of a two hitter is to make contact and move the leadoff guy over any way possible. A skill Bruce is very poor at right now.

Lastly, if he were a 2 hitter I think he would of hit there more than once this year. The stats he accumalated there were last year with Phillips, Dunn, Griffey, etc. hitting behind him. Bruce is far from a prototypical 2 hitter. IMO, he should be hitting 5th or 6th right now. He strikes out too much to be hitting at the top of the order.

What's the score?

1-0 Redbirds, bottom of the 3rd.

1-0 Redbirds, bottom of the 3rd.

Still a wide open game and plenty of baseball left.
