Burger Beer the beer that brought you Baseball, and it was awful stuff. BTW that was quite a few years.... prior to 1970. Back in the day in Ohio, you could drink 3.2 beer legally at 18, and a lot of the bars up near UC used to serve the stuff. It really was some awful stuff.

May 31, 200917 yr I don't really remember Burger beer but I do remember good ol' Hud-e-pol! Speaking of old "trash" beers, does anyone remember or did you taste the famous "Billy Beer"? Named after former President Carters brother Billy, that stuff was terrible :puke:, I swear it tasted like rotten peanuts. :lol:

I certainly remember the 3.2 beer in Ohio, I live just across the Russell/Ironton bridge in Kentucky and this entire area of Kentucky at that time was dry so we went "across the pond" (Ohio river) to Ironton to get beer. Ahh, the 70's, high school days, fake I.D.'s and all. :lol:

Ahh, the 70's, high school days, fake I.D.'s and all. :lol: It's still like that here in Louisa. The people here don't realize it would help the economy here. Instead we go 1/8 of a mile across the bridge to Ft Gay WV. I think the population there is 600 and it was around the 3rd leading alcohol distributer in WV:lol:

May 31, 200917 yr I remember Burger Beer, the radio ad on the Reds broadcasts said "Burger Beer, made with Artesian water..." I'm told that you can still get Hudepohl on tap at a few dives in Cincy.
May 31, 200917 yr The Varisty Mug Club, The Pickle Barrel, Alexanders, Crazy Horse Saloon, Reflections, Inner Circle all around the U.C. Campus and lived up there on the weekends in the 70"s. 3-2 beer and all the pop corn you could eat. On Wednsdays it was $3.00 all you could drink on Drink and Drown nite. JD
