I think Conner was 15-16-1 this year. They came very close to the "underacheiving" category and really had very few signiture wins. I can think of several coaches that I would have voted ahead of him for this award.

Does anyone else think that Daniel Lokesak is a better outfielder than Cotton/Nutini/Hiller? From what I have seen, he has better speed in the field and on the bases than any of these three; has a better arm; and is better at the plate. I understand this isn't a thread for the D-1 all stars, but it has been talked about. Sounds to me like Cotton was touted a little to high by his coach. Congrats to all who were selected to the Divisional All Star teams.

That was my impression as well. My somewhat faulty memory tells me that they had high expectations prior to the season and other NKY coaches agreed. To then turn around and finish below .500 and to have half of your wins come against Cooper, St Henry, Lloyd, and Holmes makes me wonder what exactly coaches look at.

I would definitely look at Krumps for sure and or Roesel over Arlinghaus this year. Another big year for Krumps yet there were high expectations. Roesel on the other hand had no expectations, went 18-14-1, played about a third of his schedule against the top 15 ranked teams (at the time) in the state (losing by 1 run to Male, Trinity, Western Hills and Cov Cath 2x), played against almost all of the top teams in NKY, and did this with 3 senior, 3 junior, 2 sophmore field players. Ryle also had only two senior pitchers in the 5 man starting rotation. They won 10 of 11 to finish the season, the one loss being a 2-1 loss vs CovCath. They then went on to win the 33rd Distict Championship the hard way, having to beat Connor and Boone, and lost in extra innings to NewCath in a heartbreaker in the opening game of the regional. :idunno:

IMO. If he doesn't go by the 5th round he should stay at UK. Anything after that will not help his development. From what I experienced in other athletes is that fact that going higher in the draft you dont get the palying time and exposure necessary to develop. The money is not that great either. Luke IMO will do the right thing as he is a very bright young man with an excellent support base at home.

Listening now and they are in Round 28 and he has yet to be drafted.

My guess is that Luke was not quite good enough to be drafted "high" and too good for a team to waste a pick before very late due to him having the UK scholarship.

Well I believe of the 3 or 4 Catchers they took at least one was a SS. If my hometown team took me, the team I've dreamt of playing for forever. I might have to think about my decision to attend college.

 

The Reds could use the hometown advantage more than any other team that is going to select him.
