What a joke? This state final was the worst officiated meet in the history of all track meets. Central kid wins the 300 hurdles and is forced to run it again at the end of the meet. PT kid falls in the lane of another which makes him fall. This is what is told to Central coaches. After watching it on WHAS 11 there was no foul.

The officials makes the Central kid run the race over. After running the last leg of the 4X4. Giving him only 15 minutes to recover. Central kid falls in the 2nd 4x4 and the team loses the state title.

Yep, it's a great day to be a CovCath Colonel.

Congrats to all the athletes that participated in todays

state meet.

Is this Back to Back titles for the Lady Birds from HHS ??

Wow what an awesome feat for those girls!!!

Found the 2A link:

Look out for the youngsters from CCH (Maschinot, Connelly, and Hudepohl).

I'll assume the Collinsworth girl for HHS is the sister of Austin.

You would assume correctly. Another sister graduated last year.

What would have been the better way to handle this?

Let the other kids run against the Central kids time.

Run it again today

Not run the race 15 minutes after the 4x4.

If you can live with yourself and know that you guys really did not win that championship, it is a great day. But everyone with the exception of CovCath fans know the truth. When as a race every been ran over. You guys were so rude, that you didn't even clap for the kid as he made it over the last hurdles after falling. Knowing he just ran the last leg of the 4x4 and your kid had not ran a race for the past 2 hours. Class Act.

Why did I put it on the football forum? Because you know, just like I know, everyone reads the football forums. I assume you do not want the state to know the truth. Don't tell me to get over it. Watch the film, it does not lie.

I'm sure the other Central fans are more gracious.

Your response is disappointing and , frankly, embarrassing to the Central community.

The only truth is that CovCath won the championship.

Or Centrals coach could have pulled the runner from the 4x4 to give him time to rest before he had to run the hurdles again, which the coach knew he was going to have to do before the 4x4.:D

In most cases, I would agree with you. However, this sounds like a special situation, and since it involved the state meet, it should have been handled differently IMHO. I don't have a problem with the decision that the two participants that fell down were allowed to run again, that's fine, but they should have run against each other, and the remaining participants' times should have remained the same. They ran three or four heats for this event already, so not everyone raced against each other...so the time was going to determine the winner, not the results of an individual race.

As for those who think maybe the coach should have pulled him from the relay, I put myself in the kids shoes...should a kid that fell outside of my control cause me to miss the opportunity to compete at the state level in a relay race that I also qualified to compete in? There's no guarantee of having the opportunity to race next year at the state level.

IMHO, the state organization failed these kids. It was a bad situation that could have been handled better. That said, you have to make the most of a situation presented to you and you have to accept the outcome...that's life. Congrats to all of the kids that participated in the state meet yesterday and today.
