Jones is teaching through the end of the school year, and trying to keep the weight program progressing. The problem at BC is attitude and support, from every angle. A small county like Bracken might get behind the right coach and that will turn the team around. IMO it will take a local boy coming back and taking the reigns, they are tired of outsiders coming in.

My thought exactly....They may want to look into changing their Mascot.

I just heard from a good source that Brian Simmons an asst coach at WV last year is the leading canidate. That would be a good hire for them. He has some good exp. and could help the program.

Humm..We'll see if that is accurate. I know Coach Simmons and he will want a commitment of support from the admin there. I don't know the situation at all there but it does sound complicated.:idunno:

I didn't say it was right or logical. I have been here long enough to know what the people around here want/expect. I have been here for a long time and I am still an outsider. They want locals in every job they can give locals.

Doesn't matter, you have to have athletes and kids that have played football since at least middle school or beyond and that's a few years down the pike for BC

I don't know much about Brian Simmons...but hasn't he bounced around the last couple of years from team to team...I know he was at Bellevue for a year then Walton for a year...just curious about him?

One of the major issues in Bracken is they do not have people with strong football backgrounds since you tend to have the same families living in the county and not moving much..........Very different than Northern Ky. even though it is close to Northern Ky. Local coaches are near impossible to come by...........Now a comment was made that they are tired of the outsiders coming in........but they also tend to treat the outsiders like that......that they are outsiders. This includes the administration........

Try hearsay. Hopefully will know something soon maybe by the weekend.
