BigSpikes Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Found this article on SI.com, LeBron appeared on the Dan Patrick show and one of the topics discussed was his All-Time Team. Here it is: PG-Magic Johnson SG-Michael Jordan SF-LeBron James PF-Kevin Garnett C-Shaquille O'Neal Coach: James Naismith. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/danpatrick/blog/64661/index.html?eref=fromSI
cch5432 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 If we are basing it off players in their prime, I'll take Tim Duncan over Garnett. Then again, he is my favorite player.
BigSpikes Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 I would take Karl Malone or Bill Russell before KG or Duncan
Hangman Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Other than inventing basketball, Naismith wasn't really a very good coach.
KyTiger89 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I don't understand Naismith as the coach. And I also strongly disagree with three members on this team still being active? Maybe he's too young to know Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone (2nd all time in pts), etc
TubbyCAT Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Pretty big deal though, INVENTING the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way I took it was that these were kind of like his favorites as well!

ebayer Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Other than inventing basketball, Naismith wasn't really a very good coach. Do you really need a coach for that team??? Ask yourself that question. :thumb:
MountainThunder Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 It is obvious that he is picking players he has seen play the game. That would be an awfully good team, ... but I can' say I would have picked Garnett. The other choices, I can't argue much about. But as far as a coach goes, ... let me coach em. Surely I could win some games with that lineup.

MJAlltheWay24 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Maybe he put this team together because he felt that they would play best together...not necessarily the best player at each position? Just an idea.
ebayer Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I don't know why some of you want to put Garnett down. He looks as good as nearly any power forward to me. He played with some terrible teams with the T-Wolves other than 1 season with Spreewell and Cassell. Put him on a good team and see what happens. (Oh yeah we already did).

Nothing against Garnett, but compared to Russell and Duncan (both of whom have 4 or more championships each) and Malone, the league's 2nd all-time leading scorer and one of the greatest rebounders ever, IMO he is not in the same league.
