Howard Brodsky is not worthy of being on this list at all. He has control problems and is a whiner. Plus he definetly isnt a hard worker. Not to bash but seriously. All the other sophmors at boone are pretty good though.

I know that Ryan Thompson from cooper is a monster. He'll play college.

Brodsky 2009 JV stats:

8 appearances, 6 starts, 35.1 innings, 517 pitches (190 balls/327 strikes), gave up 18 singles, 2 doubles, 1.189 ERA, 12 walks, 34 strikeouts, 4-1 record.

Shawn Klaas,Travis Jones and Rodney Orr are starting and are playing very well for Newport varsity.

Seriously, football junky is entitled to his opinion on the top sophomores just as are you.

 

For the record, Brodsky had 1 varsity start in the North Oldham Invitational against Lex. Lafayette (a 16-12-1 team). He pitched 5 innings, gave up 3 earned runs, 4 hits (1 a HR), 3 BB and 2 K's. Game ended in a 4-4 tie due to darkness.

 

Not exactly stellar, but not 'smashed' either.

Brodsky will be a good NKY high school varsity pitcher. No question.

IMO "Not to bash but seriously"?? You just said the kid was a whiner and he doesn't work hard? No offense because you do have an opinion. But, have you watched this kid practice day in day out to determine he is not a hard worker? How many times have you seen him pitch this year? Personally, I've watched him pitch in one game vs Lafayette. He pitched pretty good against a good varsity team and had the game won if it had not been for an infeild error in the final inning before darkeness. Also, so many other factors go into this and most of them are based on opinions. But Boone did win the JV tournament and he piched well. IMO it appears the comments about being a whiner and not a hard worker appeared to be personal and just a bit hard on him . IMO your opinion is yours but could have been better recieved had it not appeared to be a personal shot at him.

Is Cain a SOPH? Wow. He can be dominant by his senior year. You don't see many youngsters with the combination of velocity , control, and a strong breaking ball that this kid has.

 

WOW is right! This kid has it all! As a Junior next year, this kid will be overpowering. Catcher (who btw isn't a bad Soph himself) had better bring his A-game with Jake on the mound.

Conner has two I'd consider - the Ryle boy and the kid who also played varsity basketball whose name escapes me.

Chris Kelly and Jake Cain are great players, but Brian Doyle is having a great season as well for the breds, but He still hasn't got any Varsity time this year which is a big surprise.

 

I agree that Brian Doyle is a good baseball player, and will be a huge part of the next two seasons. But there is no way he plays on the Varsity team. His time will come, but not on this team.

Those are the main sophomore contributers to the Tigers. CJ DH's in the 1 hole. Josh plays a good third base, pitches well, and bats 2. Zac Larrimore started most of the season last year at SS and bats 6 hole. Michael Colosimo starts 2b and bats in the 9 hole and usually has a couple of good hits game in and game out.

 

Somehow I doubt all the top sophmores go to Beechwood.:confused:

Ritter from HC, plagued with injuries this year, but still threw in the late season games. Has good speed with fastball and can hit the ball well too. Look for him making headlines these next couple years.:thumb:
