They've won for years in football fielding 30+ players. It's hard to believe that couldn't have success (maybe not regional titles) on the basketball court.

 

They have had winning records, they don't have the numbers to win, players are playing both sides of the ball, it catches up with you at some point, as I feel it has with FHS in football, and they have had some superb atheletes, and have some now, as for basketball, kids play other sports and that kills your nucleus at FHS, plus you are in the mighty 11th region, you aren't given any passes.

When you are a class A school it is important for the coach to be a part of the school community. Living out out of town AND not teaching in the district make it impossible. A disservice by not moving Frankfort to the 8th. So if they move Frankfort that means they move Franklin County which in return still means a disservice to FHS because they cant beat FC unless we are talking about cross country.

Frankfort has a legit chance in getting to the Class A Sweet 16 and just as much of a chance as many do in the 11th region. However much that is. On a side note I have heard that Norman wants to go back.

Frankfort has athletes. They need someone who wants to invest the time it takes to build a program. The had that with Coach Chalk and for some reason he went to the east side of town. I guess he thought it was a step up. When IMO it is the same as the FHS job because he was getting the same type of kids at FHS.

I definately agree with this. The most difficult thing in Frankfort/Franklin County is the fact that their are three high schools. The talent is spread too thin to compete in the 11th. You have to build a program that makes kids want to attend your school, in order to get the talent. No different philosophy than what Lex Cath and Scott County implement.

You're right Crazy...If I were interested in applying for the job, it wouldn't matter. It's interesting though to find out some information on the personnel that schools have returning and seeing who might be interested...All coaches going into an application phase of seeking a new job do their research on what the personnel is like to get a feel for the landscape of the overall situation. Losing 6 seniors, I would think that might be valuable information in which a perspective coach would like to build a program around.

I agree Coach, most would rather be the "closer" than the set up man. However in this case FHS needs someone that is going to put all that aside. It is not going to be the job that Chalk and Norman had. It is going to be one that needs a strong commitment to develop the kids in the system. I think all parties need to understand that fact. Like Coach Bucket said, you have good athletic kids that need a basketball program.

You have a bunch of athletic kids. With the right coach they can win the district next year.

 

That coach needs to be someone that wants to build a program. Because in the city of Frankfort once you start winning kids will start showing up to play.
