Hopes could get flushed down the JOHN!

Former Grant County Assistant Coach Josh Grooms has been named the Girls Basketball Coach at Brossart High School succeeding Camey Geiman Eberhard.

Not the blockbuster hire that everyone was expecting?? Was he asst. to boys or girls?

Both over the past couple years. He is still going to teach at grant for the time being. It may be a haul back and forth.

Seems like a strange hire to me..............Who else was available?

He was a boys coach at Grant Co High, not girls. He was however present at many girls games in the stands & very supportive of both programs. I believe that Grant's loss is most definitely Bishop Brossart's gain.

Tough hire for this program. The parochials aren't able to pay much and unless you have a teaching position for a coach (also paying much less than a comparable public position) what is the incentive to attract a "blockbuster" applicant?

St. Henry recently went the grade school coach route because of a lack of applicants. The Cru had a terrific year and they may have gotten a pretty good coach without any HS experience.

Maybe Brossart will have similar success with this hire, but to expect a Big Time hire is not being realistic.

That is 100% correct. I think his travel is really going to wear on him after a while................Good Luck Coach!

Watched Coach Grooms coach his teams at Grant County. He is very passionate about the game. He truly cares about his players, I hope he does well. I am sure there will be some adjusting from coaching Boys to Girls.
