Oh okay. If he is a good choice and a Brossart guy all the way. Is Bray Terry Bray?

Lets answer the original question. What must Brossart do to improve?

Okay I will defend this decision with this statement. 1992 Tom Cramer (sp) leaves Brossart. Brossart admininstration takes forever to higher a replacement. Went after some big names (Mike Ford, Mike Listerman, and others).

End up with a frosh coach from Carroll County as the head boys coach who ends up winning a ton of games winning the first ever distict title, getting the first ever win in school history over Campbell County, and becoming at the time the all time winningest coach. So I think giving him a chance should be priority one. This program can NOT afford another set back.

That frosh coach who wound up winning a ton of games - wasn't he let go at Brossart? Apparently if the administration took away his coaching position, they must have had a good reason. Could be that the coach in question just had good talent and had little to do with good coaching. Where is that coach now? I am assuming he went on to bigger and better coaching positions since he was so successful. Can't believe Brossart would let him go if he was so successful. But from what we've seen with the girls program, apparently there are some poor decisions made.

Who is the coach your talking about?

Who is the coach your talking about?
He was the one after Tom Kramer and before Sclarman. Would rather not state his name because I don't know all the facts; just what people were saying.

Agree Preachit. First, best of luck to the new coach; and rebuilding starts with getting the current kids in school out for the team. It seems that the numbers have been down the last few years, especially when it comes to upperclassmen, and they need to reverse that trend. Should have a good junior class to build on if I remember correctly, although not much size; and lots of talent coming through the feeder programs in the next few years they need to "keep at home". Overall, they need to rekindle the spirit within that program, and try to match the enthusiam and intensity of the boy's program!!

Did hear this coach was in the mix for the girl's job, but not sure what happened? He (the coach before Willie) went 13-14, 20-10, 19-8, 15-10, 15-15 in his tenure per their website; so I'm not sure that's "winning a ton of games"? They were in the process of upgrading their schedule back then, if memory serves; but did have Nathan Seiter for at least the last two of those years. For what its worth, Schlarmann's first year they went 28-7, so it would appear to be a good hire??

Where talking girls basketball, not boys dude.

Actually Dude--I was responding to geez and he was talking about the "success" of a former boy's coach, who may have had interest in the current girl's job?? I'm capable of reading the forum's title??:rolleyes:

Yes StickerMann that was during the transition years. Went from Div III to Div II in the conference and went to the 10th Region. Did have Nathan Seiter a couple years and frosh year of Justin Seiter. Willie's first year saw 6 of the top 8 players return including Nathan, Justin, and 2 other starters. The 15-15 year was the first ever district title and was a very young team. Enough about that.

How is the incoming frosh class looking for the girls?

and lots of talent coming through the feeder programs in the next few years they need to "keep at home".

Are there students considering Home Schooling?

In all seriousness the girls program is kind of in the boat the boys were 10 -15 years ago. Fighting to just get kids in the "feeder schools" (joke with the diocese schools) staying at Brossart and not going "up on the hill."

Well, the current state of affairs certainly doesn't do anything to entice students that are "on the fence" to be a part of their program. The easiest way to attract students is to become a more desireable option. I am certainly not a fan of captive districting within the diocese.

All diocesan grade schools support all diocesan high schools and competition for those students should only encourage the high schools to become better institutions. This is probably a subject for another thread so as not to hijack this one.
