Klei is Dixie. I have to assume he'll handle all the RB duties. He's built like a bowling ball. His thighs look like tree trunks. He's short, so has a low center of gravity. He'll be one of the better ones in NKY without question.

My guess is they will split, which is why I didn't list either in top 5. Eubanks is very fast and an excellent receiver out of the backfield. Elliott is a very strong runner. But I've heard that Elliott will play some (possible even FT) at LB, so no way he can handle full-time RB and LB duties. Plus, it would not be smart to not make use of Eubank's abilities anyways.

Your best guess would be Joe Colosimo with Cory Crane getting some touches.

from Ryle projected as a high DI prospect at a very young age.

#1 freshman at the NIKE combine in Cincinnati (2012) beating out a kid by the name of Kaleb Ringer.(The younger brother of Jovan Ringer of Michigan State and projected 1st round pick in the NFL draft.

Elliot's national ranking (SPARQ) put him in the top 5 for all freshman in the country.

Fab50recruiting already lists this prospect in their national rankings for top prospects in the country.

a 4.65 40 and a bench of 135-45 times,185-21 times and a 6.81L-cone.Those times and ratings for a SR. much less a freshman are unreal!

I don't doubt that he can play the position. I just find it odd that they're moving the best WR in NKY, if not the state, to running back. With Fennel returning and a bunch of junior-to-be backs, I would think they could find a couple guys to carry the load, especially when you can have AC, Buten, and Roller catching the ball downfield.

Good point, but I'm thinking that this position change for AC has less to do with the other RBs for Highlands not being good enough (since I think they are good enough), and more to do with the HHS coaching staff figuring out how to get the most talented guy on the team (AC) more involvement on offense. Plus, I suspect that we will still see AC get a ton of catches/receiving yards in 2009, despite being put in the offensive backfield.

 

Also, I think part of this has to do with how much talent HHS will have in the receiving corps this year... you mentioned Buten and Roller, but don't forget Gold, Welz and Hogue. That's a lot of solid guys to throw to. And, you know that the HHS coaching staff loves to have at least three very good, dependable RBs, and the RB position was hit by graduation (losing Conner, Crawford and Head).

 

Oh, and I almost forgot... there is a new kid at HHS (I think his name is Drennen), and apparently he looked great as a WR in spring football.

Elliot will not be a RB in college. If you think so, you are kidding yourself. He has a lot to work on (major) to be even considered to be a D-1 prospect at any position. IMO, he is nowhere in the same category as Collinsworth, Simpson, or Quainoo.

 

Also, I have a question for the Highlands folk. What is Collinsworth being recruited as? I would think he would be a better receiver (slot type) then a DB.

As a freshman he is better than Simpson and Quaino were and I watched all three play a lot of football. Also, he is one of the hardest working kids on and off the field with an extremely competitive and intense personality that drives him to improve and succeed. He is on the path to play D-1 and it will probably be LB.

 

With the yardage he gained last year he has to be considered one of the top returning RB's in NKY.

The NIKE combine to a high school athlete is what the Indy NFL combine is to a college athlete. It is the most respected combine rating among college coaches! It shows sport specific abilility and is a big reason some kids get recruited by major college programs while some do not.

Of the Northern Ky. athletes at the RB position, Simpson and Elliot have by far the highest rating! Any rating near the 80's is considered a high level recruit.

With Elliot's ratging as a Freshman and it will increase as he gets more mature and starting for a 6A program against top competition, I believe he is a top RB and or LB in the area. Also I have talked to a family member who played for SK and he also confirmed that two other Big East schools and another Big Ten school not listed had visited Ryle after the Nichols commitment about Elliot.

As I posted earlier he is already getting major looks from big time programs.

And to think this kid has 3 years left in high school.
