Mack takes Xavier job...

I remember Mack when he played for Evansville.

I'm old...

Article said he played for Skip Prosser at Xavier in the early 1990s. Did he play at Evansville before?

As I recall he transferred to X, but I think blew his knee out and didn't play much for the X-men.

This was done a week ago......

You guys crack me up with the scoop competition!

I would have thought X could have gotten a bigger name than this. X is a pretty good gig for a first-time head coach.

If you mean that X already knew or had told him that he was the man that would be incorrect. If you mean he was always a leading candidate then you are correct.

They just finished interviews and Bobinski wasn't using it as an academic exercise. IMO while they thought Mack was certainly a strong candidate his interview raised the bar much higher for the other candidates.

What's impressive is the level of candidates that contacted X about the position. One is a mind-blower.

Will you ever be able to let us in on some of the details of the people who contacted or were candidates? I understand if not, but it would be interesting.

Look at the whole of what you just posted. They went through the process, but it was going to be Mack the minute Sean left regardless of who else was interested...

I don't buy it. No AD in the country turns down a big name for a completely fresh Rookie. Just no way.

What if the players and recruits were in contact w/ him the whole time and they wanted Mack all along? Also, if a big name contacted them it doesn't mean that the offer was what they wanted.

I can't remember the name of the guy you said was the best recruiter at X, but has he decided where he's going yet?

Book Richardson is with Miller at Arizona...
