March 30, 200917 yr 35M is a huge amount of money, just huge. Actually, that is what they're reporting is UK's offer. And, it was 8 years instead of 6. :idunno:
March 30, 200917 yr HE called it the "Notre Dame" of college basketball. THAT has to mean something. Why blasting out at me over something HE said, JS? I'm calling you out because you took his mention of "Notre Dame" to mean his "dream job." You could interpret the "Notre Dame" comment a number of ways, yet you only entertained one — the one that suited you. People aren't exactly bowling themselves over to go coach NDU.
March 30, 200917 yr The same reason it's hard to accept that some people do love UK and holds the program in high esteem and all of them aren't from KY. :idunno: "Holding it in high esteem" doesn't mean the same thing as "love." I have a great deal of respect for the UK hoops program. Are you mistaking that as well?
March 30, 200917 yr "Holding it in high esteem" doesn't mean the same thing as "love." I have a great deal of respect for the UK hoops program. Are you mistaking that as well? I don't think he is making that gesture at all. I don't think anybody questions your respect and loyalty to the UK program.
March 30, 200917 yr If he stays at Memphis I will have a lifetime boycott of FedEx. What can brown do for you?
March 30, 200917 yr Author OK, I guess the Notre Dame comment from Cal can mean: 1.) "Great Catholic institution of higher learning + basketball. Just a random thought, guys." 2.) "A great tradition of college basketball that I really am just bringing up to you, my players, for no apparent reason." 3.) "Notre Dame is not where I want to be. Just wanted to figure out how to use Notre Dame references in refering to UK basketball." 4.) "This comment can be perceived as this being a great job and great opportunity, hence a "Dream Job". Thanks for ripping me, anyway, js. You know and I know he used it as a term of reverence, just in the way it was put forward. You can twist what you are saying I am twisting, too. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Edited March 30, 200917 yr by DADDY CAT
March 30, 200917 yr I would love to be in Calipari's shoes with these two pretty girls fighting over me....... That would be nice...Except somebodys going to get hurt...You never want to make a pretty girl cry...
March 30, 200917 yr Marc Maggard "Memphis matched UK's offer much earlier in the day...the meeting now is Calipari trying to get Tony B hired as his replacement.... Cal already said not to a matched offer " That is what Maggard is saying on facebook.
March 30, 200917 yr This WHBQ radio station from Memphis keeps throwing out rumors about the contract numbers, but they're never clear if they're referring to what he has supposedly agreed to with UK or rejected with Memphis or... Anyway, two figures they keep throwing up. 8 years, $35 mil 6 years, $40 mil Wow on the latter.

March 30, 200917 yr He may really believe it, but that doesn't mean it's his dream job. That only applies to former UK players and Kentucky natives raised as UK fans. Why is it so hard to accept that not everyone loves UK the way you guys do? And not that many hate them the way you do.

March 30, 200917 yr Author Nah. That one is all yours. You know what he meant. He meant what he said. I'll leave it at that. I'm done. Think what you want......
March 30, 200917 yr And not that many hate them the way you do. To be honest, it's really not about "hate," per se. It has more to do with how UK fans constantly have me going :ohbrother:
