Would South Laurel wait this close to the basketball season if Coach Wright stepped down? I belive they are doing these student athletes a great injustice of not getting on this coaching search sooner. Hopefully they will get someone in there as quick as possible.

I agree. Thats what I have said before about taking so long to hire, especially at the very end of school.

It doesn't seem like a priority to me IMO.

They should know teaching positions by now and have a candidate picked.

This just proves that football is definitely the second fiddle at the school.

I think it means they are happy having the asistants run things and will probably hire one of them.

I am not 100% positive, but I believe he taught history. I believe either my niece of nephew had him in class at South Laurel, but cannot remember for sure which class.

 

Coach Chappell is a Special Ed. teacher. Larry Welch also teaches PE/Health at SL.

But they don't know for sure who is leaving/retiring right now as many teachers have not filed to retire and are holding off their decision. I do agree that it is taking an awfully long time. This needs to get settled pretty soon.

Thanks. I know that Jep Irwin taught History at South and that Welch taught PE/Health as he did at NL, but wasn't 100% sure on Chappell. :thumb:
