You cannot disallow dissenting opinions. Its not healthy. In fact, I'd argue that allowing a dissenting opinion shows to the students how strong the Church's/school's belief is. It would actually send a positive message to the students.

Again since you did not respond previously, why do you not hold Republican politicians accountable who claim to "treasure the sancitity of life" but make zero efforts to change it? They are the folks that take your fund raising dollars and make no attempts to change anything. The republicans have so much support on this issue(which again they make no attempts to change) from the religious community despite the fact that they typically ignore all the other social issues, like poverty that Christ spoke of.

So I ask why do they not try to change anything? Is it because they aren't really as pro-life as they claim and are just paying lip service to get contributions or votes??

Or Bill Clinton, or Bush 1, or Jimmy Carter, or Ronald Reagan or LBJ or Kennedy, etc. I don't believe we've had an anti death penalty president since I can remember.

Roe v Wade was a state law that was challenged and ruled to be unconsititutional by the supreme court in 1973 over 36 years ago. Its decided law and the President has little if any impact on the issue. Why do you think that nothing has been done about it despite having many years when the GOP controlled the presidency and Congress?? It is an emotional issue that people are very passionate about that drives out the vote and raises money. I would suggest instead of bashing the heck out of democrates for the issue to start holding accountable the GOP members in office for not doing more about it when they are in power. Just my thoughts

Equating the death penalty with abortion is a red herring. Those who support the former but not the latter should not be fooled by the flawed comparison used so often by the liberals and Obamaites in these threads. Abortion deals with the innocents while the death penalty deals with those who are guilty of crimes against humanity. Abortion deals with killing our own without giving them any legal consideration. The death penalty deals with ridding society of those who have had appeal after appeal after appeal covering anywhere from 8 to 30 years.

 

Some religious groups may oppose both but I believe a valid argument can easily be made for supporting the death penalty just as it can be made for just wars.
