March 2, 200917 yr Yes, I am not sure any University would turn down the NIT invite. It is more time to practice and play. Plus it is more TV exposure and money for the program.
March 2, 200917 yr The NIT is a lot more professionally ran now that the NCAA is running it. It is usually pretty competitive and entertaining.
March 2, 200917 yr I think you come off as "holier than thou" when you decline a berth to the NIT. You tell the NIT that you are too good to play in their tournament. Of course that means you aren't good enough to play in the NCAA.
March 2, 200917 yr Yes, they do not deserve to be in the NCAA tournament, they have not been a top 10 program since Chuck Hayes' senior year and this would give you more game experience so as to help players such as Liggins and Miller grow, and also to give Kevin Galloway a chance to become fully comfortable as the Starting Point Guard if BCG chooses to go that way. But all of this is irrelevant. UK will make the NCAA Tournament because they are the University of Kentucky
March 2, 200917 yr Yes, they do not deserve to be in the NCAA tournament, they have not been a top 10 program since Chuck Hayes' senior year... So they have to be a "top 10 program" to make the NCAA? If not, then they do not deserve to be in?

March 2, 200917 yr Author Thats probably what the back to back defending national champ thought last year. Florida, historically is not synonymous with Basketball the way UK is though. They are best known for their Football.
March 2, 200917 yr So they have to be a "top 10 program" to make the NCAA? If not, then they do not deserve to be in? No, what I meant by that was that the University has no reason to turn it down because of who we are. Notre Dame can go play the Sheraton Hawai'i bowl, UK can go to the NIT.
