malachicrunch
Boone gets a nice little plaque from Ryan Ernst and The Enquirer, stating that they're the Enquirer NKY Boys Poll Champs....so pretty much...nothing. I guess you figured I knew that. Just trying to figure out why anyone would get in much of a debate about it?? I would say congrats to Boone and good luck in the regional would suffice. It is still a nice honor and recognition.
joejoe08
Give me a break... We all know that Holmes is the real favorite. Personally though, I'm glad Holmes is 2nd in the poll. If they can convince themselves that they are underdogs, maybe they will play with the fire and intensity they brought to the state tournament the last two seasons. Hopefully that starts tonight. BigSpikes
These types of things don't really matter IMO. Holmes has been the best team in the state all season and has the resume to back it up. But none of these polls matter, what matters is who cuts the nets down Saturday March 21st. Smoke
Just don't see that. Ryle played a much tougher schedule than Beechwood. Nothing personal, but BHS' schedule was packed with the likes of Calvary (2x), Heritage (2x), Ludlow (2x), Dayton (2x), Bellevue (2x), Silver Grove (2x), and Villa (2x). But we're each entitled to our own opinions. Don't forget Beechwood beating Highlands, the #3 team, head-to-head

This current recognition for Boone (mediocre or not) is based on the present standings. That may be the problem for Holmes (people already have them playing the state championship, and they just now finished the regular season). A familiar line by Coach Boone in Remenber The Titans "Let the boys play....let em play!" Should be a good tourney.

Matter of fact, I've said several times, IF they get out of region, I'd be surprised if they got past Scott Co in the second round at the sweet 16. Shutitdown
Don't forget CovCath 2x as well. Are you insinuating that CovCath is the same level of competition as the D3 schools mentioned?
ckshockey
Holmes #2 in the Region, 31st in the Nation. But what do I know?
