Cursing? That is false sir. That's a bold accusation to make. I'm pretty sure I was sitting right behind you. There wasn't many people sitting in that section that weren't Franklin County fans. Also there was one man saying things to Penny, and I do agree with you, that is embarrassing. I actually asked him to stop a couple times and he didn't listen. At the end of the game when Penny reacted to the crowd so strongly some of the other Franklin County fans got upset. I never said a word during this, I just watched and listened.

 

That being said, I was somewhat disappointed with how Penny reacted. He is a player. All he had to do was let his game speak for himself. The bottom line is an adult should never directly address a kid on the court. This is classless, but please don't make such strong accusations. I was embarrassed sitting next to this guy, but the other parents never directly addressed Penny. Some of them might not have even heard the one man interacting with Penny with it being so loud in that gym.

The bright spot was I was really impressed in the Franklin County TEAM and how they did not get caught up in all the commotion.

 

Was dissappointed in the AC fans that got escorted out too.

Agree to disagree. I didnt hear anything like that, and I know most of the parents that were sitting in that section. It must have been that one guy. I was sitting right next to him, but I never heard him curse. If I had I might have told the cops to escort him out as well. That's a disgrace.

You're willing to make such a strong accusation that parents were cursing directly at a player and you're saying it came from the UPPER DECK! I was sitting higher than you were I'm pretty sure and I didnt hear that. Cursing is bad enough, but cursing at a player is absolutely absurd. I'm just having a hard time believing you. We've talked about this enough though. Good win for FC. Both teams fans need to cool it a little bit.

He reacted to a call with explicit words to which the FC crowd was yelling about. He turned around to the crowd and told them to come on the court and see what happens.

 

The explicit words were a complete falsehood, the kids mother came over and tried to start a fight with the FC fans, the guys she was talking too were simply having fun and getting on the Refs. What a joke, after talking to some AC folks I was told this was something typical from the AC crowd??? Anyway good game.

I was at the FC - Holmes game and listened to 3-4 FC fans in their 50's-60's sitting in the first row trash-talking Riley and some of the other Holmes players..classless

I was sitting a section over from the interaction with Penny and the crowd. I couldn't hear what was going on, but it doesn't matter. I have seen players almost every game on both sides take it from student sections etc. and they need to stay focused on the game. I know CJ pretty well, and I was hoping he would ignore whatever was going on, but he didn't, and egged it on. Then his mother came over to help, and it probably didn't.

 

On the far side of the court, there was some kind of altercation. There was an Anderson County gentlemen right in front of me that told us that this same guy has gotten kicked out of every Anderson County game.

 

I agree with shutitdown that the fans should not interact, especially get personal with the players. Also, I am 100% certain that a few Franklin County fans aren't the only ones that have ever done that.

 

I was glad to see both teams approach this game with the desire to win. It was a good "get ready" game for the upcoming tournament. Both teams will be better prepared because of it.

I know student sections are the worst at talking trash to players and it happens everywhere. I've talked to the FC players about it and they like when other teams and students talk to them because they don't talk back, but just shut teams up with their play.

No one can control the 50-60 yr old fan in the stands but Barney Fiffe. Where was the coach for AC when #25 started playing outside the lines. If fans on the other side of the gym noticed what was going on with #25 you know the coach for AC noticed. Everyone saw him score 29 and you know the coach did not take his eyes off #25 the entire game. Leadership starts at the TOP!
