Went to this game before a packed house. FC jumped out on top early 11-2 and never looked back. Held the lead at about 10-14 points most of the game. AC a few times cut it down to 5 pts., but FC would get it back to double figures. Franklin moves the ball really well and tonight shot good from the outside. Barrett and Donovan shot the three ball well. Donovan had some big threes down the stretch. Never heard of the kid named Lance Hall for FC, but a nice player who is steady and gets the job done.

 

Penny probably had about 27 pts. for AC. Maybe someone has the box score?? Penny also had some nice blocks and a big time slam on a fast break.

 

Good win for FC. Scott County has an off night and these guys can beat them. FC is a nice looking team and they move the ball really well and have some shooters.

CJ had 29 points for AC.

 

Donovan had 17 point and 11 rebounds. Myer had 10 points and Hall added 15.

 

FCHS defense set the tone for this one. I thought Ryan Conner did a nice job guarding CJ Penny. Held him to 4 points for 1st half.

Penny scored the majority of his points late in the second half in an effort to get Anderson back in it. He shot the ball every possession down the stretch and threw in some wild shots banking in some jumpers from the top of the key and a three. I think AC will win the 8th but if they are upset it will be because they depend on Penny too much and no one else steps up. Meyer had a big first quarter and AC made adjustments to keep him from scoring much the rest of the game. The difference is where Meyer ran the point the rest of the game and created for other people who can hit shots. FC is capable of a deep run because they are so balanced and have lots of guys who can hit shots. When you work hard to shut down one thing (face guarding Meyer the whole game), someone else hurts you.

Surprised AC's two other big men didn't get anything done. Or did they?

5 points. He was 1 of 2 behind the 3pt land. Didn't play as many minutes as Tuesday

Nice win for the Flyers. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they do in the 11th region tourney. They seem to be hitting their stride at the right time.
