Clyde Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 2nd victory of the year for SK over HHS. SK wins the NKY crown.
mcpapa Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 ^By almost the same score. Very nice win for SK on the road.
DMZ76 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hard fought game...back and forth all the way. Birds had a good look at the end for the win...but it didn't fall. Nothing to hang their heads about. Two FINE ladies teams. Good luck to both and may they meet again at state! The 3rd time is the charm!!
liveblue4ever Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Tolliver had 24 for SK. Brown added 11 points and Smith had 11 boards and 6 blocks for the Pioneers. Adler lead HHS with 11. It was a real nail biter.
Gunner11 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 A very exciting game, that it was a shame either team had to lose. The best two teams that I have seen play in NKY this season.
ebrown5606 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Wow! Had to sit there and take that one in for a moment when it was over! Some really good defensive play on both sides. :ohbrother:
trainride Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Congrats SK. Toiilver is fun to watch. Way to go Nikki B!
madman Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Congrats to both teams on a fine season and best of luck in Regional play. Hopefully, both will represent their region at state.
liveblue4ever Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 ^ Nikki is a VERY nice addition off the bench for Simon Kenton.

It was a real nail biter. This was the real difference in the game. HHS was intimidated inside...except for that scrappy little Conner gal!!
Dixiedarling Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 This was the real difference in the game. HHS was intimidated inside...except for that scrappy little Conner gal!! They never really got the ball inside that was half the problem.
Jack of all Trades Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 This was the real difference in the game. HHS was intimidated inside...except for that scrappy little Conner gal!! Who was intimidated? Very well played game last night between two very good teams. Some of the Birds passes needed to have a little more mustard on them. Very impressed by the play of Toliver, Adler and Cutter last night. Thought Allen and Towles had off nights, but you cannot be spectacular every night and Toliver did a nice job on Allen. SK does not appear to be very deep which may hurt them in an 8th region title run. Good final game for Birds to get ready for Districts.

I dont know about you but I wouldn't go inside on her. She has long arms and is a very good shot blocker. As far as not being deep, I would have to disagree with you. You have Brown and L. Figgins both coming off the bench. Like I said earlier Brown is a very nice addition off the bench. L. Figgins is still moving her way back into being able to play but when she gets back into the swing of everything she is a threat. You also have Stephenson who gets some minutes when they are needed.
DMZ76 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Who was intimidated? Not naming names. Too many point blank shots passed up and when they were taken, they weren't taken strong. JMO, though. Great effort, well coached, they look ready! Great JV game, too! Congrats to Coach Finn and his troops! HHS wins an OT squeaker!
paNDA Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I have watched SK four times this year. A loss to NDA, and wins over NCC, Lex Cath and WV. WV was the worst I have seen them play but they only played as good as they needed to. Seems like the better the team they have to play the better they are. Great balance between quickness at guards and strength and height inside. Tolliver just scores both inside and out. I like their chances for going deep into the state but they can't wait until someone knocks them down before they start to play hard. SK is a force with a nice bracket draw in the State tourney. I will pull for them as long as they are not playing anyone from the 9th.
