February 19, 200917 yr UK might have still lost the game last night, but if the officials had called the fouls on Oglivey he would have spent more time on the pine than in the game. There were at least two incidents were he fouled UK players but the fouls were instead stuck on a a boy in blue. If refs are going to allow a guy with his size to push and bull around the basket, and then whistle the foul on the guy he pushed, there's not many ways to stop him. Just my take.
February 19, 200917 yr Unexplainable Gillispie Coaching Moves for This Game: - Vandy is killing us down low. What do we do? We play all guards and small forwards and leave Harrellson on the bench. Result? Ogilvy kills us - Galloway follows up his 3 minute outing in the last game with 30 minutes in this game - Meeks is one of the premier scorers/shooters in the nation. We obviously have about 10 plays designed to help him get open shots. Right? No way. We let him run around the court on his own and occasionally try a high pick and roll. He either gets lucky or has to beat his man one on one. Sometimes I just feel :confused::confused: after watching this team play. Other times I just feel :puke::puke::puke:
February 19, 200917 yr In terms of the SEC race, this loss appears that it isn't really going to hurt the Cats much....Tennessee is about to fall to Ole Miss and South Carolina is about to go down to Mississippi State....Looks like the 4 way tie atop the East is back in place.
February 19, 200917 yr I absolutely abhor the way this team makes me feel more times than not. Even when they are winning a ballgame or do eventually win, I just can't seem to help but become a cynical jerk. I don't know what to do :idunno:
February 19, 200917 yr The Cats still control their own destiny in the East. Very true, wins and looses just keep falling in our favor.:thumb:
February 19, 200917 yr The benching of Harrelson is a head scratcher.:idunno: 7 minutes. ZERO rebounds.
February 20, 200917 yr 7 minutes. ZERO rebounds. I believe that is why he never got back in the game. When asked about Stewart's play, Gillispie replied saying that he didn't need a 6'9" two guard, but needed a 6'9" bruiser. Kentucky lost the rebounding battle by 11, that is one reason why they lost. What did Harrelson do in the first half that made anybody think he was going to do any better in the second half?
