You said it would be a worse loss then Georgia. A loss is a loss no matter how terrible the team is.

A loss is a loss. Losing to both VMI and Georgia would be horrible. But I'm pretty sure that losing to Georgia now would hurt UK worse then losing to VMI at the beginning of the season.

A loss today to Georgia wouldn't even be close to the same level as losing to VMI at any point during the season. All losses count the same in terms of record, but when you're playing for the Big Dance, who you lose to becomes a pretty big factor. The VMI loss is way worse than any potential loss UK could suffer in the SEC.

I understand what you're saying.. But here is the way I see it:

 

UK beats VMI (a scrub in some eyes), then continues the rest of the season as they have and lose to Georgia (bad team in a struggling conference). Do they still make the tournament? At this point they've beaten VMI (big deal... might as well have played Lamar twice), but lost 3 straight in the SEC and has fallen to Georgia.

 

Personally I think that scenario would hurt more. But again, that's just my opinion.

VMI, Vanderbilt, Georgia, who cares? Even if the would get into the field of 64, they would just be a 1st round embarassment. What UK fans should be concerned with is the state of the program, not which loss is worse than the other. My god, did we ever think we would be at the level where the discussion concerns who is the worst loss? I've been following UK bball since the early 70's and besides Fast Eddie's debacle this is the lowest the program has been in since I have been a fan.

I disagree. I would bet VMI is probably better than Georgia. On top of that, a loss to Georgia hurts UK's chances in the SEC East race.

I dont believe this. The O'Connell Center holds 12,000 people and in conference they are averaging 11,700 per game. I seriously doubt he would leave UF over that attendance number.

1. Kentucky will get a 9 seed and lose in first round of tournament.

2. Gillespie will still have that smirky smile and blow some one off at halftime.

3. Hood will not be ready for primetime next year or ever play ahead of Miller

4. Pilgrim and Orton could make a big difference if they manage to stay out of

Gillespie's dog house and get any playing time. (if Galloway has room in

that house)

5. Gillespie does get his teams to play hard out of fear, but it can't be sustained although I bet the 2 hour scrimmages on game day they look really good.

6. Why hasn't Landon Slone played since he got a two game run and got a little bit of attention? It can't be for lack of effort

Heard from a sorce BCG isn't happy UK isn't happy ab=nd sicnce his contract was never signed this could be his last year. A big role in this is that Billy Donovan is upset with Florida so he could bemoving to UK.

To Meeks : you can not go pro until you learn to handle the ball better, learn to pass better and learn to make better decisions when taking the ball to the basket, besides with a better supporting cast next year you will be a favorite for POY and be looked at as a lottery pick.

 

To Patterson: you need to work on your game facing the basket as a PF which you will get to play next year when Orton is in the post. You have to prove to the scouts.

 

To BCG: skip the interviews like Rick P. and no one will get on you. Do what you do best and recruit, recruit, and recruit some more, talent sure can make you look like a good coach. You may want to rethink the way you sub.

 

To the fans: you are looking at the rock bottom, this time next year will make you forget about this rough patch we all in. The entire team returns, throw in the newcomers and next year is going to be special. Just like with Brooks, be patient and watch BCG do his thing.

TO JODIE MEEKS:

 

Go pro after this season. Get the money while you can. You can't possibly have a better season next year than you had this one. Thanks for the constant effort.

 

TO PATRICK PATTERSON:

 

While I don't think you're ready for the NBA, go anyway. If Meeks leaves, you better follow him.

Why do you deserve to be our coach? What have you done to merit being the UK coach in the first place? You're stubborn. You embarrass the faithful with your idiotic halftime interviews. You seem to be more concerned with playing YOUR style, as opposed to making adjustments for a more WINNING style. And, you said concerning A.J. Stewart, that you needed a 6'9" bruiser, and not a 6'9" 2-guard. My response to that is, "We don't need anymore 6'7" wing players w/o scoring ability. We need 6'7" guys (or of any size) who can put the round, orange thing called a basketball inside the round orange thing called the basket. You have but one of those players. If all you're concerned about is winning, then why don't you do more of it?

 

TO THE FAITHFUL:

 

Few of you are realists. I'm as die-hard a fan as any, but I'm realistic about our team. I think with my head; not my heart. Ever since Chuck Hayes left, we've been an average/less-than-average team. Tubby's last two teams and BCG's first two teams have been some of the most frustrating to watch and follow. Tubby, while being a fine man, left us with a crapper of a program. Billy took over and is simply flushing the commode. Be prepared for this to get worse than it already is. There is nothing on the horizon indicating anything different.

I think Orton will end up being like Blair from what I have watched of him on YouTube and other sites, I think UK could be a top ten pre-season team next year. If Pat-Pat and Meeks come back with Orton, Galloway improving and I think Hood will end up being good and will make an instant impact next season. And aren't we still in the running for Lance Stephenson? Him along with Orton would be a great class.

 

And if not, I see Patterson staying for his senior year and if we could pull out Ferguson, we should be in good shape. BCG is stubborn, yes, but there is a reason the man has been named conference coach of the year every year since he has been a head coach.
