Prep Basketball: Cards win home finale

By Keith Taylor/Sun Sports Editor

Zollo, a sophomore, had a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead George Rogers Clark to an 81-67 win over Lafayette Friday night in the team’s home finale.

Senior Robert Hatton followed Zollo with 22 points and knocked down all four of his team’s shots from behind the arc.

In addition to Hatton, Ryan Williams, Patrick Bailey and Jarran Thomas were honored prior to the game.

“It was tough with the distractions, it showed the toughness that this team has bought into,” Hatton said aferward. “We’ve faced a lot of adversity through injuries and a tough schedule, but it just proves how tough this team has become. They played us very tough. Hats off to them. They played one heck of a game and it took a tough effort tonight.”
