Final from the Fieldhouse. Middleton sat out with a gimpy ankle, from what I heard. Mandela Rice got the start on Senior Night and responded with something like 11 points.

 

UGLY third quarter for the Royals - three points total. Turned up the defense a bit in the 4th. 8-20 on threes helped a lot tonight.

 

Folks were wondering if Harrison County could be competitive in the region this year. I think the jury is still out. All tonight proved was that Mason County's 2-6 could ease by the Breds' 1-5 at home.

Yet again, I'm not sure if anything was confirmed tonight based on the situation. When Middleton (who is by far the best player on the floor) doesn't play for Mason County, how can you judge the other team. With Middleton in the line-up, this game can easily become a 20+ differential.

I agree...having Middleton out is a BIG difference as he is the leader and best player on the floor the majority of the time. I watched Holmes build a 37 point lead on this HC team and I'm sure with Middleton in the lineup MC would have likely won by a larger margin than this.

That was well over a month ago, Mason is not the same team as they were then and I'm sure Harrison isn't either.

 

But with that being the case then, if Mason beat Harrison by 8 early in the season with Middleton and now they beat them again by the same margin without him, doesn't that seem to show that Mason has progressed and developed more than Harrsion?

 

For them to beat Harrison by the same margin without their best player shows they have improved much more than Harrison since that first game. If Russ plays this game, it gets ugly IMO.

Harrison should of won the game. They led by 4 with 6 minutes to go. Turnovers and free throws hurt them while there defense kept them in the game until late when Mason pulled away with about two minutes left. The fieldhouse was very quiet at one time.

Then you have to give credit to Mason for the turnovers.

 

Middleton is an entirely different team with Middleton offensively and defensively.

 

And to say Harrison "should" of won the game is a bold and incorrect statement. A team must come out and take care of business to win the game. Harrison didn't so obviously so to say the "should" win the game is wrong. That is why Harrison is Harrison and Mason is Mason.
