He seems so athletic and has so much upside and goes out and doesn't perform. It frustrating. I'd say start throwing your free throws granny style or something I don't know. :madman:

 

Have him watch "Jackie Moon" (Will Ferrell) in Semi Pro. Seemed to work pretty well for him. :thumb:

This really shocks me because knowing Coach L, I know he has his team shoot a lot of shots and free throws during practice.

This really was a great game to be at. St. Henry trailed by 14 early in the second half but then was leading by the end of the 3rd quarter. Nice comeback! Speed led the game with 29pts, he willed his team to a win last night.

A very physical game where I think the refs let it get out of hand in the first quarter. Both sides were very unhappy at times, but they both were consistantly unhappy.

 

Ives shot well for CovCath but other than him and Maile it was a tough night from the field for the Colonels. St. Henry's depth made a huge difference in this game.

Isler is the only consistent free throw shooter they have. He has the highest FT percentage on the team I believe. Ives is probably the next best, and after that it's really just not good. Luke will make one or two and then bomb the rest. Wellbrock, it's just said. People laugh in the stands, and he laughs too, but it really is not all that funny.

 

That is by far the best part of Isler's game. He is very consistent from the charity stripe. What's really scary, is if Thelen were healthy Isler probably would not even be in the line up to shoot free throws. The trade off Thelen gives you with the rest of his game would probably make up for it. Not sure what Thelen's Ft percentage was, but my guess is it is not as good as Isler.

 

Maybe if Thelen were healthy they would be able to sub Isler for Wellbrock late in games to avoid the current situation.

 

The reality is that they are not talented enough offensively right now, to not take advantage of every scoring opportunity.

Right now the odd man out would be Wellbrock, not Isler. The kid is vastly underperforming. Without his 19 rebounds the other night, what has he done? It is hard to watch him play, because he has potential, but there is nothing. Isler had 8 pts in the first half, and got none in the second. They completely went away from the inside game, as they have all year when it is working. 8 pts in one half is not bad from your center....

 

And yes if Thelen were healthy, I would have him in there instead of Wellbrock in a heartbeat. I think Thelen would deserve it. Wellbrock would come off the bench and hopefully that would spark him to become more productive.

I'd look for them to probably lose to Dixie and Scott but beat SK and Pendleton to head in to districts on a positive note.

Great game to watch St.Henry played a great game. CCH struggled to hit their free throws. The refs yes I agree lost control of this one early, both sides got a lot of no calls and bad calls so at least they kept it even in that area. Speed had a great game Bessler and Anderson great game too. Also saw the JV game CCH won that by 1, but they did not look good against a very undersized Crusaders squad that played scappy. Good win for St.Henry

Just looked at my prediction from another post had St.Henry winning 56-53 - pretty close!

What's up with senior Jordan Counts? (I think that's right) I believe that he actually started at the beginning of the year but he didn't see the floor last night.

He was out with an injury I believe.

St. Henry played a great game. Coach Faust kept the Cru scrapping after basically getting blown out in the first half. Cov. Cath's 2nd half push pass turnovers and missed free throws contributed greatly to the comeback. Cameron Speed was lights out. Very impressive. I agree with the observation made earlier in the thread that unless the Colonels figure out how to hit free throws, their post season ride will be very brief. Good to see Shover back in action for a few more minutes in crunch time. If all of the parts of the puzzle somehow come together for Cov. Cath. they still are not going to beat Holmes. But it would be nice to see the Colonels play a game (or 2) in the BOK arena.

I would have to believe that Cameron Speed has been one of the best Seniors in the second half of this season in the 9th Region. He has been playing through an ankle injury and been putting the Cru on his back. Good win for the Cru
