Happens in the 12th.... some....

Any coach that would play a senior on the jv should be fired. What a joke.

There are cases where I could see this being a problem...Im on the fence about using it in basketball. Would probably leave it up to the kid

Ok lets say you have a really nice kid who wants to be part of the team and cannot cut it on varsity. So what if he plays JV? Every team has different circumstances....could be a number s issue. Now it can kill your program building if he is taking time away from a soph.....but again every circumstance is different. Wish I knew the details so as to make a good judgement.

What if a senior never played ball for three years and decides on playing his senior year? Is it right to play them ahead of those who have played for four years?

Anyone can play on the JV team.

No rules against it, but there's a reason it's called "JUNIOR varsity."

I think it's more of a gentleman's aggreement between a lot of schools in the 9th that they won't play seniors on the JV level. A lot of coaches will just cut a kid if they can't see that kid seeing ANY time at all on the varsity level.

Exactly. Varsity is all that matters, and if the senior isn't improving for next season to play varsity there is no reason for them to be on JV.

I totally agree Cheapsnate. I knew I couldn't remember ever seeing that at Ashland. JV is just dress rehearsal for varsity and if there is no where for the senior to go then whats the point? My opinion
