I guess Hendrick is getting alot of love on here. I am glad everybody has their own opinion. You all must see something I don't.

Everyone gets to have there own opinion. But put some of these names on big games. District games or rivial games and lets talk after that. lets have the coaches have there say after that. IMO they may not be pleased in the way its worked.... also just wondering if Coldiron talks to much to coaches why do they continue to rate him so high. It seems to me he must being doing something right. Really does it matter though, I got it from good sources he is not long for the high school game. Good luck to him. He has done his region well in everyone big tourney he worked!!!:ylsuper:

If I had to pick just one official...it would probably be Coldiron. I seriously do not mind him talking (or listening) to a coach the way he does it.

 

What I have a problem with is some of these officials (and one of them is even mentioned here!!!) that almost baits coaches into saying something just so he can T them up. I hate officials with rabbit ears, who are just looking for a reason to blow the whistle.

 

An official who can let a coach do his little rant, try to get his team motivated, and otherwise express an opinion...and still be calm and rational afterwards...is a guy I want wearing the stripes.

Terry Coldiron is one fo the best referee's in the entire state, not just the 8th Region! He is approachable, works the floor, communicates w/players and coaches, has great mecahnics, he is the total package!

 

If he does not get the 8th Region finals then someone should get a hold of the legendary Bernie Jenkins and give him an ear full! Just jokin' about givin' Bernie a hard time, but Coldiron will be in those finals!

 

Cornbread would be a very solid choice, Gary Teague is just awful and should not ref junior high basketball!

Cornbread is a great guy but he needs to step-down. He can't cover the floor and his reactions are extremely slow. Coldiron is by far the "cream of the crop". After him, throw the rest of them in a hat and pick two.

The 10th and 11th region known as the Bluegrass Basketball Association for the referee's is considered the "Best" group of referee's in the state of Kentucky. The association could cover the state tournament for the KHSAA because they have that many referee's that are good enough to call the state tournament!

I'm sure that every region/association has some officials that are a bit weaker than others, but sf08 is correct - the BBA has the reputation of being right up there as one of the, if not the best group in the Commonwealth.

Maybe someone just had a bad game. Coach's from across the state love to come to the 10th and 11th region to play tornaments. They know that they are going to get the best referee's when they come.

WarriorMom I don't know what games you have been watching but most coaches like and want the 10th and 11th region officials. I know alot of the coaches in the 8th and 9th regions love comining into the 10th and 11th regions to play because they are going to be treated fairly and consistantly. And as most people know they are not "HOMERS" like you get in alot of the other regions.:sssh:
