rockmom Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I just want to take the time to thank Birdsfan and his awesome family for helping me out for the next few days or so. We have been without power since Tuesday, and we had no place to go because we didn't know of anyone or anywhere to take Lucky, our dog. Birdsfan and his family, and Kasey their dog, generously opened their home to Lucky, and now my daughter and I have moved to where I work until we get power. We've been told tonight that may not be until the end of next week. So...THANK YOU SO MUCH BIRDSFAN! And RunToState, if you do take the Luckster for a w-a-l-k in the p-a-r-k...beware....you will never be the same. Thank you as well!
75center Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Friends are a precious gift. Good luck, hope they get your power back sooner than they said.
GaViking Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Hope you get your power back soon Rockmom. BF, that was very nice of your family to bring Lucky into your home. I hope everyone will have electricity and water ASAP.
ladiesbballcoach Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 When you get that dog back he will be wearing a Highlands doggie sweater and barking the Bluebirds fight song.
MrsFairFan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 What wonderful friends! I hope you get power soon.
Birdsfan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I'm glad you started this thread. Now we can post some pictures of the Luckster in his "FEMA shelter". My dog wasn't too sure about Lucky at first, but he insisted on making friends. Here they are playing together, after the "formal introduction rituals" had been completed.
Birdsfan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 And another. In the top right corner of this shot, you can just catch a glimpse of one of RM's infamous "found boot socks".
Birdsfan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 For a while, they were playing a game where they would pretend-bite each other. Eventually, Casey would use her height advantage to get the upper-paw by batting Lucky on top of his head.
Birdsfan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 So who is Lucky sleeping with tonight? That is the $64,000 question. We're eager to see what happens. Right now we're having a few Dr. Phil moments. I think Casey is feeling a little displaced. We're trying to give her equal attention, but I think she'll need a some time to adjust. She did a couple piddles on the carpet, which I think was meant to get attention or maybe claim her territory.
Mom55 Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 This just goes to show you how good people really are, we are truely lucky to have friends, I know I appreciate mine. I hope the electric comes on very soon, we were only out for 1 day this time 9 days in 2003.
Run To State Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Aren't BF and his family the absolute best! :ylsuper: I was good seeing you again Rockmom, and a real pleasure meeting your beautiful daughter. Lucky's a great dog, I wouldn't mind taking him for a w-a-l-k in the p-a-r-k at all. I just know my unsociable dog would likely freak out.
Birdsfan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I was good seeing you again RockmomYes, you were very good. You hardly caused any trouble at all.
Run To State Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Yes, you were very good. You hardly caused any trouble at all. Not like me at all, I know. I must of been outta sorts today. :idunno:
