That's Rockmom's dog; mine is the other one. And it's not a Pug -- although he looks like one. He's a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix.

I'm a little worried at the moment. RM left about an hour ago, to take Lucky home. In this weather, it's going to be a bad trip for them. Say a little prayer for everyone that has to be out in this (latest) mess.

We're home! Lucky is sacked out on the bed. :lol: Car trips are traumatic for him.

I apologize to everyone for not posting an update when I heard from RM this evening. It took her around three hours to make a trip that took half that the first time. But with all the excitement, I completely forgot that I had posted this. Must be gettin' old.

 

RM - Glad you two made it home safely. Wish you would have had better circumstances for your reunion; but at least it's all over now.

Drove through Springfield and Lebanon Kentucky yesterday... I couldn't believe the devastation from the ice storm. Power lines still down dangling from the tree branches. I felt sorry for the many farms that I passed... that appeared to be without power.

My parents in Grayson County have been told it will likely be 4-6 more weeks before they get electricity back....longer before they get their phone lines repaired.

 

Thank the Lord for my nephew's old scout master! They brought my parents a big camping stove, and a 20lb propane tank, and the a pick up truck full of firewood! They also now have a car charger for their cell phone, and my sister that lives in Breckinridge County brought them dry ice. Life will be inconveninet for a while, but they'll be able to survive until the ground drys out enough to get trucks back out into their remote area and the repairs to the lines can be made.

 

If no one has heard, Grayson County High School was the designated shelter. But, it was on generator. If I remember correctly, the entire 27,000 population of Grayson County was without power. They were putting people on school busses and running the busses in the parking lot to keep people warm.

 

FEMA visit and tours there tomorrow.

My step dad's family is from there and lives there. Also a lot of his business is located in Grayson County. They have told me that it is really bad there. Of course, they my stomping grounds of LaRue, Nelson, and Hardin Counties aren't much better either.
