ladiesbballcoach Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Can't take credit for the thread as a good friend text it to me. He is a reader but not a subscriber and thought it would make a good topic. With the new arena, NKU has the ability to host the ALL A and it is a result of the push from NKY that we even have an ALL A tournament.
Clyde Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Absolutely. If WKU can host the girls tourney geography is obviously not an issue.
ladiesbballcoach Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Absolutely. If WKU can host the girls tourney geography is obviously not an issue. That is a KHSAA decision. KHSAA doesn't decide the All A location. I can tell you that the girls' tournament is at Bowling Green because Houchen's Grocery Stores gives a good chunk of change to sponsor the tournament.
gchs_uk9 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I see no problem with NKU making a push, but I can't see EKU/Richmond letting this tournament go easily. It is a huge boost to the economy of Madison County and the city supports it well.

gchs_uk9 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Who makes the call for the A? I believe there is a committee or a board of some type. I want to think it's made up of a representative from each region. I know Bob Tucker from Somerset has represented the 12th Region for years. I'm guessing the All A schools in each region send a representative to meet with the others and decisions are then made.
jahearme Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 There's NO DOUBT the new arena at NKU is 1,000 times better than Eastern's gym. I say they go for it!
big royal daddy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The arena at NKU is far better than EKU, but like it has been posted before, Richmond and Madison Co. will put up a fight to keep dollars that are despartely needed.
Theoldguy Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I have said this for years, if only to thank the NKy schools and staff for starting the whole affair. A lot of folks forget that it was a group of NKy schools that started this whole event and it would have never moved out of NKy if we in NKy had a arena like we should have had years ago....

Jim Schue Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 The first step EKU/Richmond needs to take to ensure they keep hosting it would be to add some new lighting to counteract that awful green tint that falls over everything. Every year when I leave there I seem to come down with something, and it's because those sickly green lights sap my resistance.
polarbear1994 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Anyone know when the current contract with EKU runs out?
Cover Corner Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Maybe they should try to host the All AAAA Classic, because it seems like every football team that is in the bottom 3 classes are eligable.
