Some of the meds my guy's take have a strong positive effect on them, but some of those same meds can cause weight gain or eating disorders but the positives of the meds outweigh the negatives of the weight. Without knowing why, you really have no idea what is happening to a obese person so instead of complaining about them, how about switching places or walking in their shoes for a week or so....

 

If people were a bit more tolerant of each other, this world of ours would be a much better place to live in.

Can obese people get a government check? seems like a lot of fat people out the first of the month loading up those grocery carts

I see a lot of skinny people, stupid people, smart people, pretty people, ugly people.....maybe I've seen some on here...loading up their grocery carts at the first of the month...does that mean that everyone is drawing a government check:idunno:

Exactly. A doctor must provide documentation stating that the person is TRULY handicap. My parents walk fine, are active, but they are overweight. No doctor would give them a handicap sticker and theyd never ask for it ya know.

It seems like the people most in need (and most deserving) of things are usually the ones least likely to ask for them.

A doctor must sign the form for a temporary or permanent handicap parking permit. I finally got one for my Mom last year due to a disk/arthritis in her back. I thank God I can walk into the store, and don't mind parking farther from the door. Sometimes we don't know why a person has the handicap permit. I do mind people who abuse them. I would never use a permit unless the person who has the permit was in the car and needed the handicap parking space.

I don't know. Can stupid people get a government check? Obviously. I work at a bank inside of a grocery story and I see those people loading their carts every single day. But in all honesty, what was the point of your post?

 

Point being, the word handicapped attached to obese is how they are able to obtain government checks, because of this so-called disability they don't have to work or look for work and as far as can stupid people get a government check, probably not stupid if getting everything paid for you without even looking for work, moving to look for work,etc. Getting tired of all these handouts going on in the USA these days for obescity,stupidity,whatever the reason.

Many people get paid at the beginning of the month who are not on government assistance. How do you know who is a worker on salary, retired person etc? You don't. Just to assume a person has a grocery cart full of food doesn't mean they have a hand out.

No kidding. Of course we're talking degree. My belly is not flat so technically I'm fat. I'm not obese though.

I actually find a few of ya'lls comment very rude. Woodsrider you failed to respond to anything I said. I think being fat and doing nothing at all to improve your situation isn't cause for a handicap pass, no way. I think being fat period doesn't give you the right to one. If you're just overweight and need to modify your diet and work out, then do it. But to the people who have family members who you have seen STRUGGLE for YEARS doing everything they can [liquid diets, NOTHING ELSE, working out for hours] and no result, all to find out they have a medical condition that is making it impossible for them to lose the weight, the things you're saying are very offensive. That being said, none of my family members would think of trying to get a handicap pass just to park closer. Leave it for the people who truly need it. There ARE obese people who truly need it. When you can't breathe, you can barely walk due to all the weight on your knees, then yes you need it.
