Wellbrock with 15 boards. If he ever gets aggressive offensively (ie look for his shot) he will be a force.

Good to see the Colonels winning again!

 

Isler and Wellbrock played great. It seems that Maile and Ives are going to play well every night from this point on- maybe it is the two big men who will be the X-factor. Isler showed a smooth left hand and he took it strong to the basket. Wellbrock was a man on the boards and would have had a double-double if not for some missed bunnies and questionable no-calls. Maschinot played a fine game as well, limiting turnovers and hitting his open shots.

 

On the bad side, Sorrell's 9 points were all in garbage time. The kid can flat out shoot- made 3 of his 5 three-pointers. This team needs someone to be a consistent third or fourth option- I think it should be him.

Counts did not do much today. And if Wellbrock could hit a single free throw, he would be a very, very dangerous player. He makes Shaq look like Jodie Meeks at the line.

lol, Wellbrocks free throws are scary. I mean I'm assuming he is working on them, but I just don't see how he can miss that many. And the funny part is, he'll brick off the back board, the next one airball lol. Good night for him on the boards though.

Ives seems to really be playing well lately. Good to see Isler rebound from a bad game against Tates Creek and chip in with 10 points.

Mason County and Clark County would never lose this big to anyone once in a year,let alone back to back. What is wrong in Mt. Sterling?

 

First quarter against Male, Brandon Rash, leading scorer and rebounder, went down with a foot injury and never returned. Against Covington Catholic he sat on the bench in street clothes. I have heard that he will be out indefinitely with his injury.

The injury to Rash really hurts them but it shouldn't have made this big a difference on this team. Poor showing by the Indians.

So tell us, who is going to score with Rash on the bench? He's the only player on MC that can create his own shot. I think it's pretty obvious that he is "the man" on MC and without him, they are going to struggle. Hopefully someone like Hendrix can step up and be a leader.

Good win for the Cov. Cath. But can they keep making progress and build off this win?

Just my opinion, but it looks to me like Mont. Co. players are now looking ahead to when the season is over, i.e. other Spring sports, Spring Break, etc. I know that Rash was missed, but come on, losing by 37 points to a 4-13 team going in! No excuse! There is enough talent there to at least put out a better effort then they did. Example, Clark Co played against a decent Campbell Co team yesterday without Rogers, Stenzel, and a still hurting Hatton, and still sucked it up and won by 4 points. Mont. Co. needs to look at their self in the mirror and decide whether to play hard or just look ahead to next year. With that being said, I wish Rash a speedy recovery, as he is a great kid!!

Well you had to see the game Montgomery County had a hard time with 2-2-1 press and turned the ball over way to much. They allso did not rebound very well at all. Did not match up inside at all. Cov Cath inside men were a whole lot bigger and stronger inside. Some times poor shot selection with no people in position to rebound hurt a lot to. Good luck to Montgomery County Coach will get them turned in the right direction. Good game for Cov Cath. probly the best I have seen them play this year.
