I was at the game and seen no disrespect from any players on either Team. The elbow was an accident, but it was also a pretty bad one. I've had my share of elbows and there never fun, I'm sure JJ was seeing stars at the time. This Holmes Team has some very fine young men, they are well Coached, and very disiplined. This is pretty much the same group from last year, minus Henderson, Avery, and a couple others. They play hard and keep their cool. If anyone remembers the 2nd round of the Sweet Sixteen last year, you should of noticed that.

 

As far as the game: FC played hard and seemed well Coached, just not on the same level as Holmes talent wise. Was very impressed with the Dogs half court game tonight on both ends. Almost five players in double figures is always good to see. Pittman got his, but R.Johnson is really playing well lately. Only 13 tonight, but I don't believe he missed many shots. When Riley wants to, I think he can take anyone off the dribble. My fourth game this year and I didn't realize he was that quick. The sophomore Arnold looked very good tonight, did he miss a shot?

When Holmes is on, it's tough for ANY team in the state to play with them. Anyone who has seen them first hand this year will tell you. Just ask Scott Co and Bryan Station about Holmes when they're playing their best ball.

Finally got a chance to get to my computer. I was in attendance for the game last night and want to start out by saying Holmes is the real deal by far the best team in the state at this point. The absence of Hicks and Watkins really hurt the Flyers in my opinion, maybe not enough to make a difference in the outcome but still hurts missing them. I was very impressed with the abilty of Holmes' players to get to lane and elevate. I noticed a lot of times where they just hung in the air longer then the FC defender and made the shot. Also Holmes didnt force much on the offensive end all night and took good smart shots. I thought they shot the three very well, a lot better then I was expecting. When Holmes plays like this they are going to be a tough team to beat for anyone, anywhere. I thought Barrett Meyer played a great game for the Flyers. Donovan had a rough night but what do you expect when you have Pittman guarding you, nothing that is Andy's fault. Pittman is the real deal he is a stud, by far the best player in his class, no arguements. Please dont come at me with Euton, Jackson, Guyn, or who ever else Im not going to listen to that, Pittman hands down. Hopefully the Flyers can rebound today against Dixie Heights.

 

On another note I really liked Holmes' gym and setup of the school, was very impressed. It kind of reminded me of a small college atmosphere.

I always sit near the Holmes bench, I could hear the FC parents and fans where I was sitting. They were at times - rude, crude, and socially unattractive. When the game first started someone said take him(Pittman) to the basket, he's slow. Of course I laughed out loud so he could hear me. Needless to say Pittman proceeded to show that fan how slow he was. At one point the same fan said something(I could not hear exactly what he said) and I screamed, so he could hear it. QUIT WHINNING!!!By the way from where I was sitting Riley could not see his hand out there. Bottom line every game I go to, there are a lot of fans who are like that. My son and I went to the Cov Cath / Holmes game and we saw Brandon Hatton and his Dad (Scott)and Sara, so we sat by them on the bench side of Cov. Cath. Long story short. When we got into the car my 14 year old son said I can't beleive all the racist comments from the older fans. :madman: Then we had practice and Burt Pouncey a mixed boy on the team was sitting with us and came up to me and said the same. Just wish we all could be sports fans and leave all the other stuff at home. We are there for the kids. :idunno:

I was at the CovCath/Holmes game, and I sat on the side you speak of, and I don't recall any racist remarks. In fact, all the CovCath people I know of, which are a lot, are pretty enthusiastic about Holmes this year. Just seems a bit off to throw the race stuff in there...

I wasn't at the FC and Holmes game so I don't know how their fans were, but it sounds like normal run of the mill stuff and you might be taking it a little sensitively. Holmes has a target on their back, so of course other teams want to be the one to show them what's up lol

Amazing isn't it? I witnessed a few parents involved in all of this last night at Beechwood/Highlands, and it was on both sides. People need to grow up and enjoy these kids/athletes. I also had a parent by me who was very complimentary of both teams, and was commenting on how great of a game it was. There are obviously people on both sides of the fence. I just think a lot more people need to appreciate this game and these athletes and quit getting caught up in petty bickering.

I was very impressed with Meyer..I don't know how many times I can repeat that. I'm sure Coach Henley would love to have him on his team, as would a lot of other teams around the state. Great ball player, but from what I saw, an even better kid.
