Sportsfan the only time it was close was 2-0, Holmes totally dominated the game and boards. I can't count how many one shot and done's there was on Cov Cath side. Maile can hop and play, he is the real deal with no help. Also the people who said Pittman would get bullied underneath, DON"T THINK SO!!! :idunno: As far as Conner, St. Henry, they play FOUR quarters-not three. There is a clear favorite team in the ninth at this point and that is Holmes. :dancingpa

I agree with everything except for the bolded about Pittman. Not sure how he was a non factor when he was the third leading scorer with 9 points, had 4 blocks and probably 7 or 8 rebounds. I agree that he still needs to work on some things but to say he was a non factor? :confused:

Wellbrock lets ALOT of things into his head. He couldn't handle Pittman tonight. Thelen and Isler did very well all things considered against Pittman. Wellbrock just lets things get to him, including when he is taken out of the game. The show he puts on is quite entertaining...

 

As for the bigs not finishing, it had very much to do with Pittman. Isler isn't a small or weak kid, we're talking about a 6'4 235 pound kid. But when you have hands above the rim, and another guy on you as well when youre trying to go up, it just isn't going to happen. They won't see another guy like Pittman this year. I did like some of the guards [Maschinot and Maile] ideas to look inside, the passes just werent there.

 

I agree. I thought CCH looked much better with Isler and Thelen in there together. Isler just doesn't get rattled the way Wellbrock does. Goes about his business and continues to play hard regardless. Thelen's success tonight had a lot to do with Isler having two defenders on him.

He had nine points? Wow. Honestly, he just didn't do all that much to me. Non factor was probably a bit extreme, but he wasn't anything too hard to handle.

Yeah, I think he WANTS to be outside. Poor kid was just born into a 6'5 big man frame lol. He'll be fine though. I mean heck the offense is pretty designed that all 5 people should be outside the arc, so it could be just part of what he thinks hes supposed to do.

I thought Holmes looked poor offensively. They don't shoot very well with the exception of Riley (who is so smooth). To be honest, CCH got shots. They just simply missed them or they passed up good shots to dribble into bad shots. They were open. They just clanked them.

 

I also thought Pittman was more concerned about yapping than he was about playing. I'd encourage the young man to work harder to get more out of his talent. I didn't see a whole lot of effort. He does pass well though.

Thelen moved Pittman around on the block when Thelen wanted to post up. It frustrated Pittman which led to more yapping and generally just talking to himself. He needs to get stronger physically.

 

I also question him being 6'7. He certainly didn't look much taller than Thelen and I'd guess Jake is 6'3. Standing right next to each other, I'd say 6'5 at the tallest.

 

Once again, Riley is very smooth. Hands down the best pure PG in NKY.

I haven't seen the stat sheet but I'm pretty sure the top two scorers for CCH combined for something like 7/26.
