So yes its time for me to go to bed, I mis read and took it for Elliott Co:creepy:!....Even if they didnt play their starters the last 3 quarters I honestly dont see the last 5 guys off the bench coming in and beating a team by 88 points.

Riverside loses go as, 103-30,95-21,100-31,77-44(closest game), 63-17, and now 100-12. Does anyone have much info on this team? Khsaa has them in the 14th region, 55th district. And also 5 8th graders, 3 frosh, 1 soph, and 3 jrs on the team.

That's just cruel.

Wonder how the 'Neers were lucky enough to "draw" RC in the 82 Food Mart Classic.

Estill improves to 5-8

Riverside falls to 0-6

Wow...is Riverside that bad? Estill that good?

Riverside is an extremely small boarding school near Jackson in Breathitt County. This is an all too familiar situation with them. They may have a competitve team every 15 years or so and I am sure they were scheduled as the patsy for the tournament host. The score is pretty wild, but from looking at the rest of their scores there may not have been a whole lot Estill could have done. I really have no clue, only guessing based on previous scores and Riverside's history.

I'm thinking Estill Cty. is nowhere near one of the top teams in the state. They had a 4-8 record coming into the game.

We see these type of blowouts every year. IMO, there are ways to keep the score from getting so out of hand. An 88 point margin of victory is ridiculous.

You can't tell your kids not to play hard, but I would hope that they were not pressing and they were walking it down and working on their half court game.

Thank you we all appreciate that.

Can someone call Riverside Christian and ask them if they would be interested in playing Boyd County? We need a win in a bad way.

:DIf it happens I'll take Riverside Christian:D:D

Riverside Christian (0-8) -- Robinson 5, Ramey 2, Daniels 2, Moore 3.

Estill Co. (5-8) -- Cackling 12, Hoover 9, Singleton 6, Walling 5, Wiseman 6, Coffey 7, Hammons 6, Williams 6, Roberts 12, Berryman 12, Abernathy 2, Birchfield 3, Covey 8, Davidson 5, Toler 1.

Is there a running clock for this type of situation as there is in football?

No, but that is a solution to this problem.

It really looks as though Estill did all that they could. They had 15 players scoring, which I am assuming included their whole bench. No player scored more than 12 points.

Wow....thats just not right .....sounds like they need a mercy rule for these young kids. That can't be enjoyable to even play the game.

No starter played over 7 minutes and only one starter broke double figures. When the game was scheduled Riverside had won 9 games the previous year. I don't think anything could be done to prevent this.

As for Estill's schedule their 8 losses come to teams with a combined record of 68-19.
