While replying within the rules, what is wrong with Schneider? From my standpoint he looks to be a pretty successful coach.

I'd dare say that a lot of schools across the state would like to have a gentleman like Coach Schneider teaching their young men how to be responsible adults , and along the way win a few football games .

I think he should stick around as long as he wants, heck till he gets 400 wins, however, I don't see the need for a big announcement each year that he is coming back, everyone should just assume it and when he retires he retires.

It wasn't a big announcement it was just a few sentances in a high school sports blog in saturdays newspaper.

Maybe in years of coaching but not the success.

This guy is a fossil and started coaching when they wore leather helmets. They could push him out in a wheel chair and NCC would still achieve the same success because he is a figurehead at this point. His assistant coaches are the masterminds and Bob just gives them the thumbs up or down.

 

I applaud the guy for spending all these years and the countless hours of his personal time trying to better young men and prepare them for the rigors of life outside of football though.

He maybe a figurehead on somethings. But he is the special teams coach. The last couple of years his special teams have been breaking the school records for punt and kickoff returns for most yards. These are in all categories avg. and individuals.

Mr. Schneider isn't doing anything differently than a lot of other coaches do. He lets his coaches coach and makes key decisions. I don't know for sure, but I believe that Mueller allows his offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator to earn their checks, but all big calls come from his head set.

I know for a fact that Dale calls what play he wants and the offensive coordinator signals the play into the qb.

I'm glad Coach Schneider is sticking around through my son's senior year. My son has a great deal of respect for him and has learned so many different life lessons as well as football skills.

You know much better than I. I know that when Lorenzon was there, at least during the '97 season, Schrader had a ton of imput on what plays were called.

 

Regardless, there is absolutely nothing wrong with allowing coordinators to do their jobs and being the final vote. Coach Perry did that at Hanover, and we had some very good teams.

At least Dale wears the headsets....Bob hasn't worn them in at least the last 3 years.....I just think he is there to protect his coaching staff, I have heard from several people that have an affiliation with the school on the hill and said that the administration wants the staff gone once Bob retires!

There is no way that they will get rid of that staff. It is one of the top 2 or 3 in NKY. I question the administration's handling of more than 1 issue, but there is no way you get rid of something that good.

 

Additionally, I think that it says something about Coach Schneider that after 40+ years that he realized the old way needed to change, and he changed. I know that, as a Bellevue fan, you don't like him in the way that I was never a fan of Coleman. You still have to respect what he has done and how he has allowed himself to evolve with the game.
