At least Dale wears the headsets....Bob hasn't worn them in at least the last 3 years.....I just think he is there to protect his coaching staff, I have heard from several people that have an affiliation with the school on the hill and said that the administration wants the staff gone once Bob retires!

Hey, don't bust on him for that one. Teipel has been on crutches and in a boot since the season ended. He was just that tough a kid that he played hurt the last half of the season. And played pretty well too. Not many know what an amazing accomplishment this season was for Teipel playing through that injury.

 

As to Coach and no headphones, what's wrong with that? That tells me he has a good group of coaches and he trusts his staff. I am sure he makes his opinion known when he needs to. A head coach is about a lot more than deciding whether to call a dive or pitch play in a game. He sets the vision, makes sure everyone is on mission, puts the right players in the right spot and leads in a lot of ways other than play calling on game night.

Good for him.

 

I'm sure the players respect him and due to the coaching staff that he's surrounded himself with, and the fact that he still has a firm grasp on what it takes to win games, I'm sure he'll have a good season next season.

 

Voice of Reason stated earlier "....will next year be the last for Coach Schneider? I would be inclined to say yes." and I agree with him, especially (and this is not a jab at him) if he loses the big game again.

I don't know what wearing headsets has to do with it. Down here in Bell Co Dudley Hilton doesn't wear headsets and never has or will and he calls all of the offensive plays and has a major imput in the defense.

Based on some quotes in the paper from Schneider since I made the earlier post, I now now tend to think next year will not be his last. The way he was talking in the most recent Enquirer article, it sounded like he is inclined to continue coaching as long as he is able and having fun and success.
