I see tremendous improvement for the team this year. The running game seems to be alive with the Link and Pennington combo, the question is about the quarterback situation, and whether or not the QB has some potential targets to take some of the focus off of the running game.

 

 

Johnson, Robinson & Cornett can catch it. A better question is, can we get it to them?

All I know is that numbers appear decent, the guys appear to be working hard, and several appear to have added some good muscle to their frame. I did hear that one senior lineman dropped his 40 time into the 4's last week. He was excited and hopes to drop 2 more tenths if possible.

They ran on a wet track Saturday at the combine. As a result, their times were not as good as expected. They did well in the weightroom though. :ylsuper:

I have been told that #54 has been tearing it up in the weight room. I also hear that he has a tremendous attitude as well. Im really looking forward to a great year from him. Is it true that he is running under 5 flat consistently as well as cleaning 275? He really has a great future!!:thumb:

This should be the best team Coach Donahue and his staff has had in the last 10 years. It is not often you get that many seniors on a team in Class A Football in the mountains.

Harlan should be improved with a pretty good senior class, but I don't see them matching up with the team from a few years back that lost to Somerset in the district finals.

They are short an explosive player like Lundy and the ability to throw the ball downfield. Other than that, I believe they would match up with that team fairly well.

I think their line could be as good, but they are short at quarterback, running back and receiver, plus overall team speed, the secondary and special teams.

 

I just think it's a bad idea to build up the expectations too much for a team that was 3-9 a year ago.

We agree on offense except for running back. We will be good at that position. Defensively, we are a little short of that team in the secondary. Pope, Stevenson, Belcher, Ball & company were good in that secondary. Of course, Pope was very good on both sides of the ball..........Wolfe has been a fine addition as kicker.

 

Expectations are for an experienced, hard nosed football team that has been through a lot of adversity to be 500 or better and win a few ball games in the 1A playoffs.
