I don't believe any Elliott fans said "Great job on 7th place guys!" All they said was great job coming out of tough competition 3-1 and bringing home a trophy. Others are the ones who started the 7th and 9th place talk. And no Elliott natives said fans are going nuts over 7th place. Maybe they are going nuts on how cold the ocean was or because Elliott built the biggest sand castle! But I believe they mean they are going nuts over a solid 3-1 record in a very tough tournament.

 

 

Come one now. Way to bring home the Championship and way to bring home the trophy would make one think that they won the tournament.

The Lions played with the Tigers and came out the winner. If they can play with these teams , then they have proved TO ME that they are the Lions and not the cubs. See you Friday , and way to go. I do think that they have everyone's respect who they played and who watched them play. Again Congratulations Lions, you made Kentucky proud.

I don't know of anyone from Kentucky who was rooting against them, but some people think that everyone is out to get Elliott County.

I seem to remember a few years back when Scott Co won the consolation bracket in this tournament and I do not recall the negativity, especially so early!

 

On the website in 2006 tehy finished 5th rather than 9th. Anyways, Elliott Co. has a ver good team and it also shows that how advanced Ky basketball is IMO. The team they played today had a couple D-1 players, but Ky basketball teams in general are much better fundamentally and better coached than almost any teams in the south. There are better teams from time to time because of athletes, but if its fairly close Kentucky teams usually win. That happened a lot when I was high school and we would play SC. teams in the Cumberland Falls tourney.
